The never-ending awards season is about to get even longer. Debuting in December 2018, The "Awardies," the first-ever award show honoring award shows, will honor the best from all award shows including film, television, theater, and music awards.
Categories for the "Awardies" will include best award show, host, presenter, speech, reaction by a winner, reaction by a loser, musical performance, best outfit, red carpet interview, and best reaction shot by an audience member.
Reaction to the news about the Awardies has been mostly negative so far.
"Ugh. How many award shows do these out-of-touch, bubble-dwelling elitists need?" wrote a prominent conservative blogger.
"An Award Show Award Show? What a bunch of narcissists!" wrote a movie fan on twitter.
Even many people in the industry seem to doubt the necessity of this latest entry into award season.
"Seriously, ANOTHER award show? Do you know how exhausting it is to put on an expensive dress, get inside a limo, and sit still for over three hours?" said one actress.
"This is ridiculous. I'm getting so tired of pretending to be happy for my colleagues when they win," said an actor.
One prominent, multiple Oscar winning actress replied, "I don't understand the negativity. I think this is wonderful. I can't wait!"
Rumored hosts include Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey and Jimmy Kimmel.

Used to be we mainly had the Oscars, Emmys, Tony & Grammy awards. Now we seem to have at least a dozen others.
The award names should be changed to Oscared,Enemy, Phoney, and Grimy awards.
I believe there have been years where the Oscars broadcast director & team won an Emmy for the production.
Yeah it’s ridiculous how many award shows there are. And the same people seem to win every time.
