....A judge Monday threw out criminal charges against Nevada cattleman Cliven Bundy, his two sons and a co-defendant in their 2014 standoff with federal agents, citing "flagrant misconduct" by prosecutors and the FBI in not disclosing evidence before and during trial.
"The government's conduct in this case was indeed outrageous," said US District Judge Gloria M. Navarro. "There has been flagrant misconduct, substantial prejudice and no lesser remedy is sufficient."
The judge issued her ruling before a packed courtroom with nearly 100 spectators inside and more than a dozen others waiting outside.....
The dismissal with prejudice, meaning prosecutors can't seek a new trial, marked an embarrassing nadir for the government, which now has failed to convict the Bundys in two major federal cases stemming from separate armed standoffs.......
Cliven Bundy called himself a "political prisoner" and said his argument lies with local authorities...
...."I raised my cattle only on Clark County, Nevada land and I have no contact with the federal government. This court has no jurisdiction and authority over this matter."
The Bundy patriarch said Nevada's governor, Clark County, Nevada commissioners and the sheriff were "aiders and abettors" and "terrorists" for failing to protect his family's rights and liberties......
Prosecutors and the lead FBI agents in the case sat listening to the judge's ruling. They didn't make any statements in court.
Later, Nevada's interim US Attorney Dayle Elieson, released a short statement, saying, "We respect the court's ruling and will make a determination about the next appropriate steps."
The government may appeal the dismissal. The prosecution team in recent weeks added a new assistant US attorney, Elizabeth White, the chief appellate lawyer in the Nevada US Attorney's Office. Attorney General Jeff Sessions also sent an evidence discovery expert to the federal prosecutors' office in Las Vegas to review.....

Session’s US Attorney in Vegas, newly named, Dayle Elieson is in charge making the call on further prosecutions, appeal of Judge Navarro’s ruling to the Ninth Circuit etc. etc.

He could, but if he’s smart, he won’t, because anything he does just adds to the issue of interfering with the ‘”wheels of justice,” on a matter that started long before he became president. I am just hoping when the yoke of the Mueller investigation is lifted, that one of Trump’s first actions will be to jettison the Little Alabamian Ferret, because instead of ending the Bundy travesty, Sessions has encouraged it.
We have people convicted and who entered guilty pleas in this case without all the evidence on the table.
I draw attention to Greg Burleson sentenced to 68 years by Judge Navarro after the first of these three trials.
Todd Engel, convicted in the first trial, not sentenced.
Jerry DeLemus, entered a guilty plea, wanted to withdraw it, but couldn’t.
Navarro called him a “vigilante bully” at sentencing and gave him 87 months, 15 months more than the prosecutors wanted.
DeLemus was co-chair of Veterans for Trump during the New Hampshire Primary.

perhaps Sessions is a southern gentleman, and that’s a great thing to be.

That guy was convicted on multiple charges but not all he was charged with. The guys in the first group of six in the first two trials each faced 10 felony charges with a maximum sentence of 150 years if convicted on all.
The group of four (Cliven Bundy, Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Ryan Payne) whose charges were dismissed today were up against 15 felony charges with a max sentence of 225 years possible.

My concern goes a lot deeper. I would not be a bit surprised that Sessions is an anti-Trump mole, maybe sent by McScrotumneck to try and derail the Trump Administration. Because he could not have done any more damage to Trump if he tried.
