Session’s is terrible but we still may be OK because of the IG investigation. The IG can bring criminal charges.
I think that’s one reason the FBI has been stonewalling releasing docs and info. They don’t want to go on record saying one thing to have IG use it against them. They can’t take the 5th or they’ll be fired, but if they talk they’ll get busted for lying to the IG and congress.

IG Horowitz is an Obama pick and a Barney Frank protege. He supposedly was the IG who whitewashed Fast & Curious.
The IG can bring criminal charges.
An IG can only recommend charges to the DOJ. And with Sessions being recused, that would leave prosecutorial decisions up to RosenSwamp.

The IG works for the AG. Since the AG is recused from anything related to the Clintons or the campaign, the IG works for the deputy. The Deputy is Rosenstein. Sessions is nothing more than a spectator to this, is what I’ve read elsewhere.
The IG cannot bring criminal charges, is also my understanding. They can’t even subpeona, and have to make requests for data, and put out reports. That’s it. And I expect the reports from Congress to be much more incriminating, since they can actually subpeona.

And every investigation since, including Lois Lerner, Uranium One, even the Clinton scandals he's supposedly re-validating now. Why should we expect he's going to release a report admitting there was DOJ corruption back then, when it was his job to know if there was DOJ corruption at the time it was happening?
No the DOJ and obama ignored him in fast and furious. The IG had no teeth under Obama. There’s a good article about it, but I don’t have the link handy right now.
Thanks, and duly noted. My source was apparently bad on that, as I indicated I had only heard and not yet verified. Most IG’s only audit, was probably the misunderstanding.
I still don’t have faith in the current IG of the DOJ, that has presided over Comey, and reported directly to Lynch and Holder all these years. Hopefully I’ll be wrong about that too, at least partially, but there seems to be some serious corruption going on for some time already right under his nose.

Yes, of course they "investigate". They don't prosecute ("bring charges").
