Nothing like a good case of Giardia to make you healthy. Stupidty and insanity.

I took a drive up to Big Bear Lake in California and, while I was there, stopped to fill my radiator with water at a local service station. When the radiator was full, I took a slurp of water from the hose and put it back on the hanger.

Fast forward a couple of days, and I had a Japanese tumbling act performing in my stomach. When the doctor heard my symptoms, he said, “Been to Big Bear, haven’t you?”
LOL

Our NH town includes a letter stating all the contaminants in the water they treat—some are added by the treatment with chlorine! We're waterfront, and can't be attached to the town's water, so we draw from a big lake instead.

So far, so good. :)

Yep, after the 1st 3 or 4 days the Population will thin immensely due to lack of safe water.

And everybody thinks I'm crazy for filling up soda and other plastic bottles with “good” water and a drop of bleach for storage.

But I didn’t tell you what happens! Hint - it’s an exothermic reaction. HIGHLY exothermic.

My 9th grade chemistry teacher can tell you all about it. ;>)

I know.

In Basic Water Class they always did the HTH/Soda or cooking oil in the parking lot.

We take it so for granted, who can blame us, I guess. It isn’t just the water...often, you would have to boil it, and if the electricity is out, that means gathering firewood or using stoves of some kind.

Sigh. Well, that is the price for prosperity. We just forget, and I guess that is human nature.
