They were, and they have recently undergone their biggest change in several decades under the new King and Crown Prince. In May they assembled the largest meeting of Sunni Leaders (55 nations) ever assembled to meet with an American President. They committed to crack down on terrorists - and since have rounded up their extremist preachers (some with millions of followers) and jailed them without trial, replaced the Princes and Government officials who led during the 9-11 period (Like Bandar and Nayef), stripped the religious police of their arrest powers and replaced their leaders, embargoed Qatar for not cutting their terrorist ties, and ISIS is now effectively destroyed.

This Iranian regime came to power holding Americans hostage in our embassy, and initiated the modern terrorist technique of suicide bombing during the Iran/Iraq War and their 1983 suicide truck bomb attack on our Marine Barracks in Beirut. They have continued to maintain the motto “Death to America” as one of the staples of their regime - still routinely chanted at large rallies. As you noted, their explosively formed penetrators (armor-piercing shaped charges) were the single largest cause of death for US military in Iraq, but they were also responsible for the deaths of even more US allies. They have systematically trained and equipped militias around the Middle East and Latin America, who target US and Israeli interests, as well as running drugs into the USA to raise funds. They have been among the world’s largest state supporters of terrorism since adopting religious rule, albeit their terrorism is more centrally controlled through the IRGC and their surrogates like Hizbollah, rather than the more distributed “grass roots” support and promotion of terrorism by the Saudis. Iran harbored much of the Shura Council level of al Queda after Tora Bora, including bin Laden’s son and heir apparent Sa’ad. With their newly secured land route from Iran to Golan, they are stockpiling missiles near the Israeli border, which can inflict widespread mass civilian casualties in Israel - a new capability. They are consolidating their power over Iraq and its large oil resources, as well as Syria and its Mediterranean ports, as part of an explicit program to drive out US friends or influence, and control the Mid-East (Armageddon is their explicit phase two).

There is also an important distinction between the Saudi Wahabbi Sunni Sect, and the Twelver Shi’ite Sect that rules Iran. Whereas the Wahabbis believe they must impose Sharia on the whole of the world (by any means violent or peaceful), the Twelvers believe that they must militarily destroy their enemies in a final global War that will mark the end of times and the coming of their messiah, the Mahdi. They have constantly preached that this is the end time, that many prophecies are being fulfilled, and that the final apocalypse is upon us (first Israel, then the Saudis, then the rest of the World - focused on America as “the Great Satan”). They can not be trusted with nuclear weapons.

Part of the reason that other countries may well be involved in a potential regime change attempt, is precisely because recent events have made it increasingly urgent to them that the Iranian regime must be stopped. Saudi Arabia is surrounded by Iranian Surrogates in Iraq, Syria and Yemen; and Israel faces an existential threat from Iranian forces on their border. Both urgently need a game changer.

You worked hard on that. Were you paid? Dont tell me the Saudis are ok because they changed family members. That country should be wasted for what they did to us.
