A plane heading from Los Angeles to Tokyo turned back because an unauthorized person was on board. KABC-TV reports All Nippon Airways Flight 175 left Los Angeles International Airport around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, but it never arrived at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport. Tokyo-bound flight returns to LAX after an ‘unauthorized person’ was found on board
Queen Sheila of the Triple Crown Weave is not going to be happy about this.
It is my understanding that an unauthorized person is someone who is not, or will not, be granted a visa at the receiving country.
Sounds like a stow away.
It reminds me of the old trains where the conductor would come through and collect tickets after the ride had started.

I heard on the radio this morning that it was just someone who got on the wrong flight, but can’t say if that is actually the case.

They seem to be unaware of Star Alliance and other such alliances, and the fact that it’s not unusual to board one airline with another airline’s ticket.
You can travel around the world on one airline ticket these days.
Kirkwood, that’s what I heard. Someone who intended to go somewhere else. To me, that ONE person is inconvenienced, the flight continues so all the rest of the people can arrive as planned, and THEN that person is returned. Is there no personal responsibility?

All planes grounded from those 3 airports except on plane to NY.
They found out an hour into the flight that he passenger was on the wrong plane and then had to fly another 7 hours to reduce fuel. Total screw up by ANA.
