I saw the Christmas Story Musical last night—a sanitized twisted vision on America in the 1940s. We lost something in that “translation”.
Oh, they’ve already bitten it. Germany has confronted their Nazi era a whole lot more completely than Japan has confronted theirs.
In the 90s, a book was written in Germany that psychologically profiled Hitler. It was not allowed to be published on the theory that to understand all is to forgive all. It eventually got into print.
Schindler’s List romantic comedy? How about Springtime for Hitler?
