Love these pics. That 3rd one is pretty amazing. Completely unorganized from what we expect a wave to look like.

I mistakenly posted images from Getty in reply 4, and am trying to get them removed from the thread. Thanks if you can help. Mary

With their feet full of tar and their hair full of sand
The boys know the surf like the palm of their hand
They’re not afraid (don’t back down, don’t back down)
Not my boys (don’t back down, don’t back down)
They grit their teeth (a-oo) they don’t back down

Don’t back down
You gotta be a little nuts
Don’t back down
But show ‘em now who’s got guts
Don’t back down
Don’t back down from that wave

Copy below and remove the space from after the first, and before the last, end brackets.

That was fun! As a non-swimmer, it also looked suicidal.

I was at the Banzai Pipeline on the north shore of Oahu last month. The Pipeline, as it’s called , is world famous for its winter swells and probably ranks #1 in the world for wave size and height. Unfortunately the waves hadn’t peaked when I was there but were still impressive. I will try to post a picture once I have sorted through all my photos.

Yes, PLEASE!!!! Sounds wonderful. To watch. The water actually looks very hard. Are you really not terrified to do that?

You want to surf ? First you better be a good swimmer. Real good I. Hawaii Second. Try bodysurfing first. No styrofoam Third try sponging. (Boogie board) By then you'll get a feel for waves Then if you want to pick up a big stick. And try. Go for it My 2c. I like being in the big waves 🌊 with fins on and no styrofoam Much easier to ditch apartment buildings coming your way that are 100 ft outside
