After I had gotten out of the service I met a woman and we started dating. After about 2 years a relative was getting married so we went. We sat by my mother during the reception. My girlfriend was telling a story about her family and my mom jumped in about half way through and told the rest of the story.

Turns out that we knew each other as kids, our parents had been friends, and we didnt recognize each other. It was kind of weird for a while, it was a feeling like I had just found out I was dating my sister or something. She felt the same. We dated for a few more years.

My little ice pick in the eye and I have been together 26 years now. Cant imagine that there will be a day when one of us will wake up without the other.
