On Wednesday December 6, Finland celebrates one hundred years of independence.

Major festivities will make note of Finland's journey since 1917 – when the Finnish parliament proclaimed independence amid the Bolshevik revolution in Russia – from a poor provincial backwater to a global leader in technology, education and design, and a "social demographic triumph"as The Guardian put it.

Finland for centuries was ruled by Sweden until 1809 when the Tsarist Russians took over. They were finally able to become independent during WW1 due to Russian distraction with the Bolshevik Revolution.

A bitter civil war followed with Germany aiding the Whites and Russia aiding the Reds. The Whites under the leadership of General Mannerheim were victorius.

Always like hearing about that Finnish sniper on skis that smoked hundreds of Russians early in WW2.

Bad dude.

Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I want to be,
Pony trekking or camping,
Or just watching TV.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
It’s the country for me.

You’re so near to Russia,
So far from Japan,
Quite a long way from Cairo,
Lots of miles from Vietnam.

Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I want to be,
Eating breakfast or dinner,
Or snack lunch in the hall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

You’re so sadly neglected
And often ignored,
A poor second to Belgium,
When going abroad.

Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

Finland has it all.

On Wednesday December 6, Finland celebrates one hundred years of independence.

Hmmm, that is certainly interesting, considering the timing of today's announcement re Jerusalem, and the Messianic dream about Finland/country code 358.

Simo Häyhä.

Oh, yeah. In 100 days he got 500 with his rifle and 250 more with a submachine gun. 25 on his best day. Some people, you just really don't want to mess with them...

Is Finland doing the same national immigration suicide the rest of Scandinavia is doing? Never hear about them.

Simo used both his Finnish Mosin rifle, with iron sights, and a Suomi SMG to take his toll on the Russian invaders.

On the site I attached to this post is a beautiful rendition of Finlandia by Sibelius. Lots of good nature shots of ducks, bears, a flying squirrel, and an eagle.

1917—British take Jerusalem from Muslims
1967—Israelis take Jerusalem from Muslims
2017—USA supports Israel’s right to Jerusalem.

All 50 years apart.

Hmmm.

BTW, back in 1984 I put a prayer on a slip of paper into the Western Wall.

Today that prayer was answered.

33 years I have been praying that prayer.

There is a lesson there.

Hell, yeah!

Congratulations, Finland, you are a great country with a friendly, cultured people who have put together something really special.

You sure gave it hard to those Soviet pig invaders, too.

#10. Re Jerusalem’s history. IT’s all a matter of good timing.

Let’s play the sound game. “From the British to the Bris to Bibi”.

I’ll interpret for those who don’t understand what the “bris” represents in relationship to “birth”.
