In Honor of those who serve,on Veterans Day.

Tell their story,I'll start.

My Dad was in the Navy in WW11,served in the South Pacific as a Aviation Machinists Mate.

He never talked about it much, except when he told me a funny story of how he welded a friends lunchbox to the deck.

Miss you Dad.

Both of my parents were in WWII (Army) and instilled the love of God, Country and Family in my brother and sister and me. My mother was a WAC - and served in England. . .aboard the Queen Mary on the return trip to the states they were chased by a German submarine. My father served in Alaska (of course before it was a state). I miss them both terribly. I have been blessed.

My dad was in the Navy assigned to the Marines. He was a medic in Guadalcanal in WWII.

He was buried on July 4. Ever since then, when the fireworks display begins, I say “These are for you Dad.”

Father was regular Army and an Army poet. When he met mother, he was in the cavalry of the U of Chicago ROTC. His father was in the Spanish/American war and World War I. When they wouldn't accept him reenlisting in World War II, he got mad and refused to carry the flag in Veterans parades anymore. His father-in-law was Cavalry and Army Judge Advocate Corps. His father-in-law was Army and started the Military Assn of New York. Most of my ancestors seemed to have been soldiers and proud of the fact. I'm proud of them serving.
