A plane registered to two-time Cy Young winner Roy Halladay crashed into the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday, according to a report from WTSP in Tampa.
One person was killed in the crash, but it is not immediately known if Halladay was piloting - or aboard - the plane, per the report.

Former MLB pitcher for the Blue Jays and Phillies. Two-time Cy Young Award winner. One of the best pitchers in the last 20-30 years.

Pasco county sheriff just confirmed it was Roy Halladay and he is deceased.
I can’t imagine what his family is going through. They are lovely people.

The story says he was flying an ICON A5 with a Rotax engine. I don’t think he’s the first to die in one of those and he won’t be the last.

We had Fernandez, Ventura and now this. Three star pitchers die in accidents in just over a year. Damn.
Phillies fan and I’m shocked. I’d watch him when he pitched a game for the Blue Jays.
