Women rescued by Navy insist they’re telling the truth
AP ^ | October 31, 2017 | By Associated Press

Coast Guard officials told the Associated Press on Monday that the two women had an emergency beacon but never turned it on because they did not fear for their lives. If they had, rescue would have been headed their way in a matter of minutes.

The women said Tuesday they did not use the beacon because they never felt they were in immediate danger, yet they have been quoted as saying they did not think they would survive another day, and that they were fearful during a dramatic tiger shark attack that lasted six hours. Furthermore, the pair said they had been flagging vessels and sending distress signals for at least 98 days.

They also defended their claims that their boat would not fit into harbors on some Hawaiian islands, places where much larger vessels come and go regularly.

They left port in a sail boat with more than 5 months worth of food for two and fresh water for the same amount of time?

Time for Hillary & Nancy & SJ Lee & the rest of the drama queens in Politics to say they either personally saw them OR the only reason ‘us sexist pigs’ don’t believe them is because they are women.

To explain (well try) to them that no self respecting man would ever make such a claim and also find me the man (I mean men not these pantywaists that try to pass for men) who would carry a 6 month larder - all that room would have beer or other IMPORTANT stuff in it.

These two broads look TOO fat (compared to ‘roughing it for 6 months), not sun or windburned enough..the dog also looks well fed....

Supposedly using a water purifier on board.

I fondly remember the quaint old days when if you were a lesbian or gay man, you lived your life quietly and away from public scrutiny...

One knew they had communications gear and a rescue beacon. But she didn't want to be rescued. She was adrift with her love interest.

Educated guess.

Oh you betcha. Real straight shooters these two.

They added 6 tons of fiberglass to the hull so it wouldn’t fit into any safe harbors during a 3 day storm that the weather service says didn’t happen PLUS they were victimized by anger ramming sharks.

I figure these two were out there giving each other LSD enemas. I can’t wait to hear next weeks versions of their “trip”.

Well there was a ship some years ago that was only supposed to be out for 3 hours, and some crazy rich couple packed a bunch of money and a ton of clothes to fit on a boat that could hold only 7 people.

They got lost for over a decade, so I guess they had a point.

Their description of 20- to 30-foot tiger sharks ramming their boat in a coordinated attack for more than six hours could simply be misperception, ...

We're gonna need a bigger lie!

The women and dogs were well fed for being adrift for a long time.

They didn’t seem to ration anything.

I don’t know much about this story - they were lost 5 months at sea? So they couldn’t fix their in-board motor, but what I saw from a pic their sail looked to be in good shape that they did not use on a SAIL BOAT. So these ding dongs drifted? Did they have a GPS or compass? Can they they navigate by the stars and use a sextant? Orion’s belt, the Bigger Dipper, the North Star, the Southern Cross, Cassiopeia?

Where’s a man around when you need one? LoL.

That's my take on this. One of them had the hots for the other but wasn't getting the desired response. She was conjuring a way to make it work.

I'm guessing this will devolve into a kidnapping or abduction as the story unravels and the publicity fades.
