The nfl, its "games", their "scores", the players are ALL totally irrelevant and utterly meaningless.
The nfl has become like the ancient gladiatorial games, the Circus Maximus; the famous gladiators and the charioteers of "renoun" from the ancient Romance Empire.
Their arenas are nothing but crumbling ruins and who can recall or name any of their "famous" gladiators or charioteers? The answer is no one! This is the fate that awaits the once "glorious" nfl:

This is the future that awaits the nfl, and they destroyed it all with their own hands!
Never forget, they literally hate you, their former fan base and ALL THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY, THAT IS ALL!
They literally strangled to death their fan base "goose that laid all of their billion dollar nfl solid gold eggs" with their own hands. The goose is permanently dead and they killed it! Now, all too late they want to put Humpty Dumpy back together again and resurrect the goose from the dead.

All too late the nfl has awoken to the reality that the entire league, has an INCURABLE CASE OF SELF INFLICTED FINANCIAL EBOLA and is hemorrhaging money out of every conceivable orafice to the tune of HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A WEEK with no way out and no end in sight.
The once financially lucrative nfl is circling the toilet bowl into obscurity and is quickly becoming totally irrelevant and financially worthless.
We choose to STAND with Americans for America; we choose love of country, we choose patriotism, we choose to "Live Free or Die", rather than "huddle up", "bend the knee" and subjugate ourselves, our families, and our beloved nation to the black racist, socialist, sjw, PC tyranny and perverted ideology of the National Felon League.
They want us to compromise our patriotism, our love of country, flag and nation and symbolically join the NFL in show of rebellious "unity" but "What fellowship does light have with darkness, good with evil (and subjugation for the sake of 'unity')?"
The answer is a resounding NOTHING! We can have no "unity" with those who hate our nation, its flag, its values and with those who despise us.
The anti-American National Felon League has, to quote Admiral Yamato: "awoken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve".
We are at war; the NFL started this cultural war against US, against America and they are attacking EVERYTHING WE STAND FOR, BELIEVE IN AND HOLD NEAR AND DEAR.
Like WWII, there can not be any, truce, or "compromise" for the sake of their false notion of "unity", no "cessation of hostilities" with the nfl and those who have made themselves our enemies with out a cause.
We Americans who love our county more than any game have now taken up the fight forced upon us by the nfl and like "the greatest generation" we too will settle for only one outcome: NOTHING LESS THAT THEIR TOTAL SURRENDER!

Those who care more for partying, tail-gating and getting high or drunk will continue to go to those games. Those who care more for this nation, it’s values and it’s survival will lose interest in the small army of the ultra rich celebrity players who are trying to destroy what is good for everyone else. Celebrity is celebrity only until people see behind the mask, the false façade. After that, the scales fall off the eyes and truth emerges. In the case of the NFL, the truth is being exposed and is very ugly. I doubt that professional football will recover from this treason against our nation.
“Revenue” is just a fancy word for stash to these economic illiterates. They have no clue where the money comes from, they just know that they’re getting paid big time and the media fawns over them, therefore, they can do as they please. It’s worked up to Kaepernick. Its not working anymore, but they’re yet to feel the economic impact in their own wallets. That’s coming.
True but 25% is a big number, especially since ratings from 2015 and 2016 are all showing the same trend.
Negative trends are not the way to succeed in any business and the owners know that they brought some of this on themselves...by letting 'the inmates run the prison'.
The NFL needs fans for revenue.

I cannot watch football. All I have is a Roku device ($10 a month). For me to get a local channel through that, it prompts me for some reason to enter in my provider (cable). Anyway, I got an antenna, and the channels it gets is PBS (of course), ION and Home Shopping Channels. It is weird. Don’t miss watching, sometimes I check the scores.

I have no problem with free speech - or protest - but that’s not the issue here.
Players have the right to ‘protest’ on their own time. We all have that right. NONE OF US have the right to protest on our employers time...
The only reason these players are getting away with this crap is because the ‘race card’ is being played... NFL owners would be better off - and the players and black community better off - IF THEY LEARNED TO PLAY BY THE RULES THE REST OF US PLAY BY.

I’m certain there will be more that a few as you describe.
But I’ve also experienced a positive outcome from many I hadn’t expected. Even going to happy hour, friends noticed I gave up Stella Artois, replacing with local brews. They asked why, as I’m usually teased for always choosing Stella. I explained my position. The following week 2 of my buddies asked me to go shooting on Sunday, since they too decided to ditch the games.
Not a miracle, but these aren’t people I pegged as conservatives willing to give up the NFL. But they did.

Getting a young white kid into the UC system has become about impossible.
It’s at this point that the league’s corporate sponsors are going to start asking some really hard questions on whether they should spend all that money on advertising for the NFL.
Cat people or dog people need to get another cat or dog when their cat or dog dies.
The quicker they do that, the better they will be.
And see it get its butt kicked by Buffy and Charmed at the WB.
