Has anyone noticed something a bit odd about the actresses accusing Harvey Weinstein?

The trash talk TV floodgates have burst wide open with women who now accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment. But has anyone noticed something very odd about this group. With a few rare (and aging… or aged… or very aged) A-listers, the accusers are all women who never succeeded in Hollywierd.

We are hearing nothing from the major movie actresses, and I think the reason is obvious. These women, now household names, did what aspiring actresses (and actors) have done for 90 years. When they were fighting for roles early in their careers, and all the others up for the roles were willing to go down for anyone in the casting system, they did the Horizontal Mambo too.

And of course, once they were into the system, they couldn’t suddenly become reconstituted virgins and stop “laying down on the job.”

The reason they are not complaining now? They are still active and don’t want to be thought of as simply very high paid, very beautiful, and somewhat talented women (and men) who sold their bodies for dollars and fame.

Or if they are War Criminal Jane Fonda, who claims she just learned about Weinstein a year ago, they also don’t want the world to know these “Women’s Rights Champions” were willing to stay silent, not tell the world what they did to get their movie roles, and sacrificed the next generations of their sisterhood for their own fame and fortune,

They’re all hookers. Only the price is different.

It’s hilarious that this is an issue. We have no problem with sending people off to war to die in horrific ways. We will force a convenience store clerk to not carry his legally-carried handgun to work in a store that is in a high crime area. We will break a man over years on a construction site and then fire him when his bad back or knees makes him too slow.

But let some woman use her well-used vagina to get a leg up on the competition and we go crazy.

I love beating up Hollywood for their hypocrisy, but we are all hypocrites in this one.

Reminds me of a quote attributed to Churchill....ma’am, we’ve established what you are. now we’re just negotiating price.

Agreed.

Flesh peddlers, male and female. one and all.

The women want to be world known and world famous for their sexual attractiveness and sexual market value.

They got what you want. Why are you complaining girls?

There have been established women coming out. Gwyneth Paltrow was one.

The successful ones are embarrassed they screwed Harvey to get ahead.
And are afraid to admit it.

Nothing strange about not wanting to admit you had sex with a monster
to advance your career.

Or maybe they just finally had it sink in the the way the system works is wrong. Really non-Hollywood industry went through the same change in the 80s, because the simple truth is it’s wrong, back time should not be required to get a job.

Kate Beckinsale was another. She apparently refused numerous advances by Weinstein, and still made it big in the movies. Weinstein was quoted by someone as saying “Kate lives to say ‘no’ to me.”

I assume every actor or actress went on the casting couch until proven innocent.

Yes, I’m not buying the premise of this vanity piece. I think Angelina Jolie has talked about it as well. Of course, most of these “stars” are obscure to me. I stopped calling actresses “stars” when Sophia Loren retired.

What’s odd is that there are so few child molestation accusations.

Let’s face it, effective predators know how to spot, prey upon, and manipulate their pretty much much better then their victims have capability to resist. A weak predator will never make it; and a strong target won’t be victimized. In this particular case, I wish them all the worst. There is no honor among thieves.

Angelina Jolie is on that list. Weinstein sounds like the real deal, a monster.

The problem I have is that CNN is turning this into every man who has ever done what I refer to as sexual harassment drive-by. That sort of thing can be irritating, but by focusing on this CNN is giving cover to the real monsters in positions of power who will ruin people’s lives and careers if they say “no.” In equating a Harvey Weinstein to Bush Sr. patting butts from a wheelchair, what is being accomplished? Weinstein is being redeemed. That and getting the attacks off of Democrats and onto Republicans is what the strategy is.

I can’t watch a movie now, without seeing the abuse behind the scenes. As enjoyable as it is to see pretty young women on the screen, I don’t enjoy providing the money that runs the machine that abuses them.

It is even worse with child actors. They look bright and happy and innocent, and the machine that their parents feed them into is anything but.

You could lie to yourself, until recently. But it is impossible to do so anymore. If you see somebody on the screen, it is likely that they have been victimized by some hoary old man, and submitted as the price to be paid for success.

I just don’t want to have anything to do with that.

"Kate Beckinsale was another."

When you're that gorgeous you don't need Harvey Weinstein or anyone else...

***War Criminal Jane Fonda, who claims she just learned about Weinstein a year ago,***

I’ve read that SHE was the original “SEX KITTEN” back in the early 1960s before she went pro commie. Face it, she was HOT!

One men’s magazine, around 1968, showed a sexy photo of her and proclaimed her to be “The person whose FBI file you would most likely want to see”.

Are you sure about that?
Angelina Jolie (John Voight’s daughter) is one of the accusers. She’ one of the biggest stars of the last decade.
Keep in mind that becoming a top star or moneymaker in Hollywood is still the exception. For every Angelina J. or
Gwyneth Paltrow, there are at least 5000 other similar actresses that just never make it big. Sort of like an iceberg.

All of the above comments are interesting and well said.

The most vile thing about all this is the appalling way the Hollywood prostitutes supported politicians who sexually abused truly innocent women, such as Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, and Paula Jones, ignoring the cries of the victims, or even joining the abuse, and providing money and cover for the abusers. And they are still making excuses!

All of this reveals how shabby Hollywood really is, despite all the pretenses, glitz, and pseudo-glamor.

Can any sane person imagine offering his/her child for sexual exploitation for money, glitz and pseudo-glamor, or fame? That would not be even a consideration for me no matter how much money--and certainly not for glitz and fame; I wouldn't want either of them in the first place. My children are worth FAR MORE than anything Hollywood might have to offer.
