Kind of like a cat purring...
I have had and still have a lot of dream cars, but very few that I can honestly say that I coveted. The one that really stands out in my mind is one that a relative owned: 1966 MGB convertible. The relative of mine spent a lot of time and effort restoring her, and you could tell that it was a labour of love as she was beautiful. Just as I was working-up the nerve to ask him if he would consider selling her to me, he gave the car to his son. Within a month, his son sideswiped a guardrail and that gorgeous MGB was ruined. I still feel bummed when I think that that beautiful car being sent to the scrap heap.
My first and only muscle car was a new 1966 Chevy Nova SS, 327, 350hp with 4 speed.
My father wanted me to get a pickup. I was 16.
I like the LWB Defender 110s.
2.0L DOHC TB Injected 140hp. Bare Bones Fun.
I bought a new 1973 MGB..
Does it have a fiberglass body, or is it metal?
What became of her?
Cool vehicle. Very cool. Value, ie. cost?
I know where you can get a yellow Pantera, untitled with 28 miles on it. ;-) It is in indy. Bring your wallet.
Zetros with the the camper conversion? I would not mind one of those either. Nothing like driving up to the crest of Kilimanjaro and parking there.
Ultimate!
When I was a kid, our neighbor had an XKE Jag that I lusted over every day. Years later I sat in one and the looong hood just ruined it for me. Corvettes are the same. It cured me of pining for any car. Now I just want to know if it will start, stop, and get me there and back in reasonable comfort.
‘65 Dart GT ragtop, thirsty V8, Hurst 4-speed, cream/black.
And putting an AuH2O bumper sticker on it.
The only vehicle I ever coveted was a Vincent Black Shadow. Back then, though, I was too poor to buy one, even one in a basket. Back then I coulda woulda built it. Now it would be just a ride.
I had to look that one up and can see why. Good looking piece of machinery.
At some point I’ll figure out what’s wrong with the 81 CB750. A bike lift just hasn’t been in the budget.
Somewhere in electrical land, something has fried. I’ve got the PDF manual.
Everything else seems to take the time and money.
I get compliments on it the 750 even as it sits partly worked on.
Constantly and inconclusively.
Full package.
