FULL TITLE: 'My great uncle’s bones are lying at the bottom of pearl harbor': Steelers fan burns around $1000 of merchandise along with dozens of other fans who are upset with their teams over NFL protests
Dozens of upset NFL fans are boycotting their teams and burning their expensive memorabilia in response to players choosing to sit or kneel during the national anthem on Sunday.
More than 130 players in the league knelt or sat down during the national anthem including players with the New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots in protest following President Donald Trump's controversial comments about the NFL where he called for players who protested to be fired.
Pittsburgh Steelers fans are even more upset with the team after all of the players except for one stayed inside the locker room during the national anthem on Sunday.
In a video shared to YouTube, Robert Williams of Texas, burns over $1,000 worth of Steelers gear.
'We stand for this country. We have morals in this country,' Williams says.
'My great uncles bones are lying in the bottom of Pearl Harbour [sic] for this country, for the flag, for your freedom to play in the NFL and to say whatever you want to say.

I’m not burning my NFL stuff. I’ll never burn my NFL stuff, nor will I shred it with my lawnmower, nor will I lose it in a tragic boating accident, nor will I cut it into pieces and flush it down the toilet.

Rush said that there was a football game in the UK (I forgot which Teams but US) they kneeled for the Natl Anthem and stood when they play the UK what ever to the Queen.

I am not a racist. I have had many friends of other race over the years. But my observation is similar to yours. “They” are forcing people to take sides. Minorities are going to be pressured and will have to choose what they want to represent. Some have clearly chosen already. This is what Obama brought our nation - a race war.

Actually the meaning of, “Steelers fan burns around $1000 of merchandise along with dozens of other fans...” is that a Steelers fan burned dozens of other fans along with $1000 of merchandise. Personally I think that is taking things too far. Yes, I know what was meant but sometimes the writing in news articles is so pathetic that I cannot determine whether the writer even had a meaning in mind when the story was written.
And considering the way Britain abuses people whose speech it dislikes, players standing for “God Save the Queen” was hysterical.
