I was thinking more of repeating the obvious to the children.
“You can’t have a horse/sheep/goat/duck. Farm animals aren’t allowed in our subdivision.”
“Flush the toilet.”
“If you eat in your bed, you will get ants.”
“We’re paying for the electricity/gas/water.”
