I loved the list, and have enough materials on hand to assemble enough ammo to resemble many of the items on the list.
I cast my own bullets. I heat treat rifle bullets so they can be used at higher velocities. Unfortunately, heat treated lead alloys actually lose their hardness over time no matter how you store them. I also use special lubricant to reduce lead residue left in the barrels. This lubricant loses its effectiveness over time no matter how they are stored.
As far as I know commercially assembled cartridges do not suffer from these two types of deterioration. But common ammo can deteriorate quickly if exposed to high humidity and high temperatures.
Which reminds me, .308 or .30-06?
I’m looking to buy a new Savage AXIS II XP Rifle.
They are pretty affordable and I have read some great reviews.
I would buy one in each Caliber, but I can’t sneak that past Mrs. KC without suffering the consequences.
Any advice would be welcome.
we bought but those depts. probably never saw any- went to obamy’s friends
