I am not a writer but will do the best I can. I arrived about 10:30ish. Was actually surprised that I was able to find a parking space relatively close to Lee Park. In fact I thought that perhaps the turnout wouldn't be as big as I was anticipating because I didn't see much at first and I was only 5 blocks from ground zero but I was wrong. By the time I had walked one block toward the park the police presence was strong. Many in riot type gear. They had most streets and walkways blocked off funneling everyone into two or three entrances to ground zero. As I got closer to the park you could feel the tension. The Antifa presence was strong as was BLM. Didn't see many 'alt-righters' till I got to the park. (One note here - I think some people were there just to watch. It also wasn't always clear who was who.)

I am a Christian conservative from Alabama. I don’t know of anyone that I associate with that has a nazi flag. I am in my mid-50’s and have never seen anyone hold up a nazi flag in my state. The media want to smear conservatives by associating extremists with us. They can all rot.
interesting read
thanks
When that happen the shoving started, fist were flying and people hitting each other with sticks. Of course the right stood up for themselves. Now I'm not saying some on the right wouldn't be violent anyway BUT I can say for a fact they didn't start it.
Exactly the opposite of what the media are reporting all over the place. I know someone who was there and he says the exact same thing: It was the left who started it and were throwing bottles of urine, bags of feces, using flamethrowers and fists against the protesters.
Im a former resident of charlottesville and remain a property owner there. Ive been a business owner downtown... Ive watched this liberal town descend into a radical hotbed over 15 plus years and I will unequivocally state to anyone who asks me my thoughts: “ This was all by design. “
The foolish hippies that overwhelmingly populate Charlottesville are but pawns. (Im being charitable of course; they should be considered accomplices)

There’s a pattern here. The left is organized, subtle and very evil
The left sends large groups of protesters to confront what they perceive as racism. They are really just puppets and useful idiots organized and bused in by leftist organizations
During the confrontation the democrat mayor orders the police to stand down.
The left instigates violence.
The left controlled media records the violence distorts the facts and uses the lies to blame the right and President Trump.
The organizers, the puppeteers, are George Soros, the Clintons, Barack Obama, the DNC, and others who want a revolution and civil war so they can have an excuse the scrap the Constitution and install a full fledged socialist government.
If I was President Trump I would order the Justice Department to investigate all the groups on the left that show up at every disturbance for collusion and conspiracy, and prosecute them and their backers under the RICO laws as organized criminal enterprises.
I am aghast at this take on the event.
Fully agtee with some of the above comments.
The best thing now would be to order the DoJ to investigate violent extremist groups, and name several on the left as part of the mandate.
If the left squawks, they are placed in the position of supporting left-wing violence. Of course there are a few small groups of alt-right extremists out there, their leadership may be trying to avoid direct confrontation but this one got away from them, probably by design.
I am suspicious of the circumstances and don’t take anything for granted. But the main problem is that the extreme left are much better organized when it comes to street demonstrations and they have support networks within law enforcement and local government (and the media).
Right-wing radicals have none of the above, and are basically not playing on home turf especially when they try to mobilize in situations where there is a lot of advance notice.
The frustrating part of this for many of us is that nobody needs the help of these useful idiots. It is not white supremacy that we are hoping to support, but true racial equality, which will include equal commitment to the rule of law, and equal consequences for one’s actions, and frankly, equal enrolment in universities; the time for affirmative action is long behind us now.
As for people who go out into the streets because they want to “end injustice” — they are also useful idiots, it is not injustice if people who reject education and orderly living principles then end up in poverty, what do they reasonably expect will happen? Why is this an injustice?
The sad truth is that woman in Charlottesville died for no good reason, sucked into the victim politics of the far left for their unstated goals, just a pawn sacrificed so that the powerful leftists can live like royalty. That’s all they really mean by “social justice,” they don’t care about ordinary people, just themselves.
From: Retain Mike Sent: Sunday, August 13, 2017 11:50 AM To: WSJ Letters (wsj.ltrs@wsj.com) Subject: Civil War Military Heritage
This country owes as much of its enviable martial heritage to Southern as Northern soldiers. But in subservience to popular morality, we must now banish the Confederate battle flag and those who served under it.
Responding to such assertions Ulysses Grant would repeat from Appomattox, I felt like anything rather than rejoicing at the downfall of a foe who had fought so long and valiantly, and had suffered so much for a cause, though that cause was, I believe, one of the worst for which a people ever fought, and one for which there was the least excuse. I do not question, however, the sincerity of the great mass of those who were opposed to us.
When Joshua Chamberlain received the Confederate surrender he said, Before us in proud humiliation stood the embodiment of manhood: men whom neither toils and sufferings, nor the fact of death, nor disaster, nor hopelessness could bend from their resolve; standing before us now, thin, worn, and famished, but erect, and with eyes looking level into ours, waking memories that bound us together as no other bond;was not such manhood to be welcomed back into a Union so tested and assured?
The bloodiest conflict this country ever endured resolved the issues of states rights, secession, and slavery. Great men like Grant, Sherman, Lee, and Johnston and their soldiers ended this terrible war, that fire-eaters of both persuasions had stumbled into and could not contain.
Now similar intellectual dwarfs would rewrite this history.

Okay. It’s certainly not a southern thing. Too many Christians in the south and most Christians stand with Israel.
Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. Amen!
This is the Paul Wellstone funeral Part II.
The evil degenerate baby killer communists are attempting to equate resistance to Marxism with White Supremacy and Neo-Nazism.
Every American communist from Warren Wilhelm to Elizabeth Warren are busy getting out in front of cameras and CALLING ALL TRUMP SUPPORTERS NAZIS!!!!
Like the head of the motorcycle gang said in Dawn of the Dead, “They just effed up real bad”
To make it worse, Islamic terrorism aND Nazism share one thing: A hatred of Jews. So they work together
