What color was that “earth graze meteor” you saw? We saw a large green meteor or something a couple weekends ago...very large, very green

only time i saw the Perseid was in the late 70’s, the girlfriend and i were sporting in the backyard and kept noticing them between plays

found out next day it was the Perseids

My best recollection would be to say it was bright yellow. earth grazers are low on the horizon. they appear in the same refraction zone that the setting sun does when it appears very big in the sky. The one I witnessed looked like a giant tumbling fireball that went along the edge of the horizon. It even left a visible trail which could be seen for a minute or so afterward.

When one is seen in that refraction zone it makes it appear very large even though it’s probably no bigger than most other meteors.
