Reports: HR McMaster Entirely Safe as National Security Adviser…
Conservative Treehouse ^ | 8/4/2017 | sundance

Posted on 08/04/2017 8:45:26 PM PDT by Signalman

After spending 72 hours looking specifically at the motives of those pushing almost identical paragraphs including the catchphrases: “holdovers”, “purging loyalists“, “unfettered access” and “Caroline Glick“; it comes as no surprise to hear the administration perceives the anti-McMasters crowd as having “jumped the shark”… “reached too far”, and “exposed their agenda” etc.

Ironically HR McMaster appears to be safer than ever in his position as National Security Adviser not specifically because of anything he has done, but as an actual outcome of the piranha approach taken by his detractors. The severity of his opposition’s group-think actually exposed the common denominator.

“General McMaster and I are working very well together. He is a good man and very pro–Israel. I am grateful for the work he continues to do serving our country.”

~ President Donald Trump, August 4th, 2017

R McMaster might not get the Afghanistan policy outcome he prefers, but his position as NSA appears safe; and we won’t have to go to war against Iran to appease his opposition. This looks like a genuine win/win/win. Bannon wins on Afghanistan policy; McMaster wins on Iran policy; America-First wins because we’re not going into another war in either Iran or North Korea. Perfect.

WASHINGTON […] John Kelly, Trump’s new chief of staff, has told McMaster he supports him remaining as national security adviser, Politico reported, citing two unnamed senior White House aides.

After Kelly started Monday, McMaster ousted Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence programs at the National Security Council, and the latest ally of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to be dismissed from the White House. (read more)

Also, the President weighed in directly in response to an inquiry from the New York Times:

President Trump defended Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, his embattled national security adviser, on Friday in the face of a full-bore campaign by the nationalist wing of his political coalition accusing him of undermining the president’s agenda and calling for his dismissal.

General McMaster has angered the political right by pushing out several conservatives on the national security staff and cautioning against ripping up the nuclear agreement with Iran negotiated by President Barack Obama without a strategy for what comes next. His future has been in doubt amid speculation that Mr. Trump might send him to Afghanistan.

But after two days of unrelenting attacks on General McMaster by conservative activists and news sites, complete with the Twitter hashtag #FireMcMaster, the president weighed in to quash such talk. “General McMaster and I are working very well together,” he said in a statement emailed to The New York Times. “He is a good man and very pro–Israel. I am grateful for the work he continues to do serving our country.”

A senior White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe the president’s views, added that Mr. Trump has “total confidence” in his national security adviser. (read more)

This entire McMaster episode is very, very bizarre. More to it than has surfaced.

What if McMaster was a ruse to lull the Deep State in a false sense of security?

If Trump trusts him, then it's all good.

More bad advice from Kushner would be my guess. Sounds like he and Kelly gave McMaster the green light to purge Trumpers. Not a good development at all.

I honestly don’t know what to believe about McMasters.
I hear awful things about how anti-Bannon he is, yet he remains in place. I have many unanswered questions.
Does this mean the president agrees with McMasters about Afghanistan too? Are we going to start sending more Americans there, to that deep Black Hole in the earth?
I can only hope not. This is what Deep-State wants, whatever the personal cost.

The only sense I can make out of this McMaster stuff is fake news. A 3 star not only wants to fully support the CINC, it is his only path to the 4th star.

You don't make 3 Stars by not supporting your bosses.

Agreed. And trying to give him benefit of the doubt with General Kelly appointment as well :(. (though I still want Scaramucci back helping Trump in some capacity even if unofficially — and I want the leaks STOPPED)

But my main reason for giving McMasters benefit of the doubt has to do with the success of President Trump’s foreign trips to Saudi Arabia, Israel, the Vatican and then to Poland around the time of G20. I believe McMaster was the architect of the first trip to the sight of the foundations of the 3 world religions. I thought it was brilliant!

Beltway swamp careerists like McMaster don’t consider Trump their boss. He’s just a fart in a beltway hurricane to them.

As a businessman from a tough but ultimately logical world..Trump must be overwhelmed by the perfidy in D.C.

I suppose this is what can happen when the games you play are with other people’s money.

“McMaster constantly refers to the existence of a Palestinian state before 1947,” a senior West Wing official tells CR (there was never an independent Palestinian state), adding that McMaster describes Israel as an “illegitimate,” “occupying power.”

Yup. McMaster made his first three stars by supporting his boss, Obama.

In July, Palestinian terrorists armed with rifles left the al-Aqsa mosque compound and assassinated two Israeli police officers. Afterward, Israeli security forces installed metal detectors outside the Jerusalem mosque for protection. McMaster, however, didn’t see it that way. He viewed the security measures as “just another excuse by the Israelis to repress the Arabs,” a senior defense official tells CR.

A senior West Wing official explained McMaster’s anti-Israel posture further:

“In advance of the president’s trip to Israel, there was a lot of desire from within the Trump administration for [Israeli PM Benjamin] Netanyahu to join the president at the Western Wall. McMaster didn’t even want [Trump] to go to the Western Wall. He only wanted the president to visit the Holocaust Museum.”

A deal was ultimately cut, and the president visited the Western Wall — but without Netanyahu.

In May, while briefing reporters, McMaster infamously refused to recognize that the Western Wall (one of the holiest sites in Judaism) was part of Israel.

Was it also “brilliant” that McMaster forbid BiBi from going to the Wailing Wall with our president, as well?

And McCabe is staying at the FBI too according to Webb.

I could give a rats ass what Trump says on this subject. McMaster is part and partial of the Deep State that is trying to destroy Him and his attempt at cleansing the swamp needs to be done.

It is easily understood why Trump trusts the military men. I have no problem with that, accept that the deep state now knows that Trump trusts the military. Well this is a case where the military men are on the wrong side. I also do not trust John Kelly. It just seems too convenient.

I see a modern day situation of what became the roman empire in the last years, when the Praetorian Guard would often time assassinate the Emperor to put their man in charge. It got so bad that no one wanted to be Emperor.

Wake up trump, the deep State is in control, and no where is it so dangerous as it is now in the branches of government that were created to protect our government.

If McMaster is not replaced, then Trumps Presidency is finished. The barbarians are still in control of the government.

Sara Carter Discusses McMaster-Rice Conspiracy Theory With Sean Hannity…

Posted on  by

Newly formed Circa News agent Sara Carter (Sinclair Media Group) appears on Sean Hannity to discuss her ongoing campaign against Trump’s National Security Adviser HR McMaster.

As we pointed out yesterday, the entire Sara Carter presentation of a letter from current NSA McMaster to former NSA Susan Rice appears to be a propaganda narrative. –DETAILS HERE–  Toward that end, Carter appears with Sean Hannity and misleads the audience about McMasters letter to Susan Rice.

Notice at 02:00 of the video Carter states Susan Rice has access to classified intelligence.  Technically this is correct, but only to historic intelligence work-product that Susan Rice previously saw or created.  Rice’s access is time-restricted. Carter infers Rice has access to current intelligence, which is entirely false; she does not.  Watch:

Sara Carter on McMaster: He Allowed Susan Rice to Continue her Secret Clearance

Again, here’s the actual letter from McMaster to Rice. You can clearly see the time-restriction on the authorization memo.

I’m not exactly sure what Carter’s intent is with these misleading articles, and misleading statements, which are definitely not accidental.  Perhaps someone has a working theory as to what’s going on.

There’s a solid argument to be made that Ted Cruz-minded foreign policy officials are at odds with Trump-minded policy officials within the NSC.

[Forget Steve Bannon, his name/ideology added makes things too confusing – but don’t forget that throughout ’14, ’15 and early ’16 Bannon was a rigid Cruzbot.]

The current White House fracture, applauded by the Democrats, appears best defined between America-Second camps and America-First camps.  The America-Second camps are filled with Cruz-minded policy advocates; ie. Cruzbots.

Almost everyone on record against McMasters, policy officials and advocates in media, have a commonality within the #NeverTrump or anti-Trump crowd from 2015/2016.  This historic Cruzbot common connection cannot be accidental.

If McMasters is firing NSC Cruzbots, who are inherently predisposed to be NeverTrump, it makes sense those could be disgruntled leakers.  Additionally, the two leaked transcripts of private discussions between Trump and foreign leaders are controlled by the NSC.

Cruzbots are proud #NeverTrump Republicans, and are specifically self-defined by their vitriolic and entrenched views.  The Cruz-minded Republicans are also predisposed to be anti-populists and anti-nationalist.  They are expansionist minded; and they cheer gleefully each time Trump is attacked or undermined.

Everyone who watched the 2015/2016 GOP primary is very familiar with the perspective. The Wisconsin GOPe wing: Reince Priebus, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan et al, are also part of this network albeit with less of a vitriolic tone.

It stands to reason given their inherent anti-Trump predisposition, that this group might well be the underlying leak agents within the NSC (transcripts etc.), and in the larger White House battles.

Leaking to besmirch/attack Donald Trump also just sounds like Cruzbot behavior.  It could very well be that McMaster targeting this group for diminished policy influence is what’s causing the anti-Trumpism (leaks etc.) to reach a fevered pitch.  [See May 9th Article of Inner conflict]

The desperate and rabid vitriol against McMaster could be symptomatic of the America-Second marginalization.  The crew is really mad that McMaster doesn’t want to go to war with Iran; yet simultaneously snarking at him for favoring more troops in Afghanistan.

As this develops it will be interesting to see what happens. One pattern is brutally obvious: with a few ‘new media’ exceptions, all of the primary larger media types (sans Hannity) who are hyping up the anti-McMaster stories, are from the 2015/2016 camp of Ted Cruz endorsements.

It also appears some MAGA-minded people have been hoodwinked by the sheer scope of the propaganda against McMaster.  Until yesterday CTH was essentially ambivalent about McMaster and advanced no opinion.  However, the transparent commonality of the opposition toward him demands further review.  Additionally, Trump is a pretty keen judge of character in the long-term.

Whether Sara Carter is being hoodwinked into accepting feeder pellets from anti-Trump elements in DC was previously our question.  However, Carter’s willingness to sell this McMaster-Rice conspiracy, specifically though the use of misleading information, points toward her as a willing advocate and participant in the overall narrative.

By extension this ideological willingness to deceive defines ‘Sinclair Media’ (circa) into a similar space occupied by ‘Salem Media’ (Hot Air, Twitchy, Red State, Human Events etc.) as part of the larger “America-Second” media advocacy enterprise.

…That is to say an amalgam of opportunistic GOPe and Cruzbots.
