Her wealth eclipses J.K. Rowling and the Queen’s combined, but you might not have heard of Britain’s richest woman.

An astounding fortune of £11.5 billion makes 46-year-old Kirsty Bertarelli the wealthiest woman in the UK.

And she has the superyacht to prove it.

The vessel costs £250,000 just to refuel and was commissioned for the former beauty queen by her billionaire husband Ernesto, 51.

The couple, who have three children, enjoy an extremely luxurious lifestyle and spend months on their £100 million superyacht, a 314ft-long Vava II.

The couple were spotted relaxing on the top deck of their yacht taking in the Boston cityscape.

It took around 200 craftsmen to build the awe-inspiring vessel, which replaced their old 154ft boat.

Mrs Bertarelli, a former Miss UK, is part of the Churchill China dynasty, the world’s largest manufacturers of ceramics reports the Daily Mail.

After studying at a private boarding school in north Wales, she dabbled worked as a model and songwriter – even co-writing Black Coffee, which was a No.1 hit for All Saints.

In 1997 she met and fell in love with Ernesto Bertarelli, Switerland’s richest man thanks to his grandfather’s pharmaceutical company, Serono.

By 2000, she had been named Britain’s richest woman.

I won’t argue the numbers ... aviation fuels are more my thing.

The principle remains, though. Private yachts, private jets, burn a bunch of fuel. Everybody involved, all the way back to the iron ore miners, is glad to have the business.

Money solves a bunch of problems, but it does not guarantee happiness. I hope she is smiling.

Guilty or not guilty?

Guilty by passing expiry date. Her husband should trade her in, for a new model. Men age like wine, women like milk!

And yes, I am a shallow.

No of course not. Why break tradition?

At least you are honest. Some here will argue rather than admit they did not read the article.

My immediate thoughts is . . . gosh, how many missionaries could she support with what she wastes on that boat - but it is her cash.

Buying that boat has fed more families than missionaries traipsing through Africa.

There are a lot of hard-working people who are thankful because some of us can afford these luxury yachts.

I'd imagine so.

How many people did that yacht provide a paycheck for? How many engineers, craftsman, pipefitters, welders, fabricators, and on and on put food on their tables and made their mortgage payments thanks to that yacht?

Bible-believing Missionaries do a bit more than merely feeding hungry mouths.

Ok I did research

Marine diesel is 475 usd a ton spot on USGULF

most 70 meter plus motor yachts have 500,000 to 1,000,000 capacity fuel in liters

Gallon = 3.78 liters

Hence

If full tank made of empty

1000000/3,78=264,550

316 gallons marine diesel number 2 per ton

264550/316=837 tonnes of diesel number 2 at 474/ton

Equals 396,000 bucks

It is possible

That’s equatorial circumnavigation and then some range

Latest exchange rate has GBP 1.00 = 1.37 USD

So that 250,000 GBP to fill their bunkers is really only 342,500 USD. Not far off your figure.

Costs them a pile to fill up, but they don’t have to do it very often.

There’s a dude who sometimes stops to talk to one of my morning coffee pals. Drives a Lambo and an AMG. Kinda looks like what you think a pirate oughta. I don’t know him but he seems decent enough. He has an 86 ft... Sunseeker? Something like that. A few days ago he says “Oh, I bought another one. Somebody was eager to get out from under it and the deal was too good to pass up”.

Another of my coffee crew is looking to buy a blow up kayak. We are a tolerant bunch who don’t discriminate against the rich.

Not a single one, you say? Isn’t Anderson Cooper a descendant of the family, son of Gloria Vanderbilt? He’s certainly a wealthy man.

She’s very attractive, seems happy and doesn’t have a giant engagement ring on her ring finger. Good for her!
