For the price it can't be beat. Previously used their KAR tool. Works nicely alongside Windows Defender.

Sounds good for free, personally I recommend ESET as the engine is built in assembler and has never drained system resources like McAfee or Norton

I know what the Left says: a private cybersecurity company has Kremlin links!
I would be shocked if American cybersecurity companies didn’t do business with the government.
And I don’t feel I’m being spied on. No nag screen pestering me to upgrade to the premium product. ;-)

you know on one hand I get the military and US govt not wanting to use it...only makes sense.
but for civilians?
well its only one daily update away from permanently disabling your OS by deleting important system files.

I tried Kaspersky and found that it was hell to connect to safe and regularly visited sites. Just my opinion.

I almost renewed my annual with Kapresky today. Glad I didn’t! I will try the free one now.

I wait for the Free After Rebate offers on Kaspersky, which occur several times/year. I rarely end up paying anything for Kaspersky, because I get paid back by the rebate check. Personally, I love Kaspersky Internet Security. Been using it for years. Watch FatWallet to find out when these FAR offers are given.

I've used Kaspersky Internet Security for years now will no ill effects, that I know of, other than it is a memory hog.
Curious to say what freepers have to say. Why would they be giving it away for free after people have been paying for it...?

I’ve had Kaspersky for several years, and it is far better than the other anti-virus programs I’ve had for the last 20 years. There for a while, they renewed my account for free for about 3 or 4 years.

I had Kaspersky for at least 5 years, ran into problems about one and a half years ago, changed over to webroot secure anywhere and think it’s great.

I’ve had Kaspersky since I got my laptop back in 2010. I like it!

I claim no knowledge on the product but have a vague recollection of a recent story involving Kaspersky (the person, not the software) experiencing some political difficulty, so I searched his name for news - did not find what I was looking for. However, the following may be of interest:
