Trump and de Blasio in Europe: A study in contrasts
American Thinker ^ | 8 Jul, 2017 | Avrohom Gordimer

President Trump and New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio were both overseas this week, within a few miles of each other. In fact, the President and the mayor were in Hamburg, Germany for the same exact event. Yet the contrast could not be starker.

After a very successful trip to Poland, President Trump is tending to state business of the highest order at the G-20 summit in Hamburg. Despite the countless violent, rogue and lawless protesters, the President is moving our country’s agenda forward at the summit, as he temporarily leaves behind an America that is in far better shape than it was half a year ago. New employment and economic data were just released, confirming the great progress. ISIS is on its knees; things are good.

In contrast, Mayor De Blasio is in Hamburg to join the protesters. The mayor, whose background includes support for the Sandinista regime and who announced last month that he would happily march in New York’s Puerto Rican Day Parade despite the parade’s plans to honor a just-released terrorist -- his leftist tendencies should hence come as no surprise -- leaves behind a city which this week lost a police officer to a violent murder, which last week saw another violent murderer gun down people in a hospital, and which has a plunging quality of life problem, increasing homelessness and subway crime, a corrupt child welfare system and a crumbling infrastructure. The media loves De Blasio, yet his accomplishments are few and the problems that arose under his leadership are quite many.

The people of NTC elected this POS communist so they deserve what they get. The people of the overall USA voted for the opposite so the leftists should all just move to NYC and leave the rest of us alone.

Good grief, that American Thinker page locked up my browser twice, the second time so badly I had to exit the entire browser including all the pages I had open for other reasons.

And yes, I am using Ad Blocker.

What browser? No problems on my Macbook with Safari, but I’m using Ka-block which is doing a very good job. I don’t know if they make a version for Explorer or not.

DeBlasio is one piece of garbage. While the city is mourning the assassination of one of its officers, he shuffles off the Europe to protest. Yet the ignorant voting public of NYC will re-elect him overwhelmingly. They deserve what they get.

If I were advising Assemblywoman Nicole Malliaotakis (Comrade DeBloodio’s all-but-certain Republican opponent, who also has the Conservative Party line), I’d tell her to make a couple of ads on this. Essentially, the idea is that the mayor cares more about his leftist comrades than the people of New York City, and it’s time for a mayor who cares about you.

Somebody tuned Trump into body language....very important the way Trump first extended his hand with the palm opened upward....that is a sign of friendship....Putin noticed that clearly, decision time...and he went for it! Good moves on both their parts.....now begins the new relationship forged between these two powerful leaders.....note too once they hands clasp it's fully eye to eye....

Same in their first meeting..Eye to eye...

FYI - DiBlasio's son is also in Hamburg. He is in Berlin for a summer "internship". It is amazing how these elitists can freeload all around the world and never get challenged.
