How awful. Surely the airports have video they can share.

I will pray for this man and his family.

Did he board the plane? At least they should know if his
ticket was used to board or not.

Right, they know if his boarding pass was scanned as he walked onto the flight.

I don’t know, that’s one of the reasons for this request.

Please understand how concerned we are, Maine State Militia NEVER identifies members. This is the first time since 1985.

Seems that his luggage wouldn’t have been carried unless he was shown to be in his seat, I would think.

Either way, prayers.

NY LEO’s are on this, as well, right? Since he was departing JFK....and his luggage (obviously) was checked in at JFK?

Thank you. His luggage arrived in Germany. But the silence by the police, the airline, the airports, etc is deafening.

Wasn’t there a 24 hr rule on if people were officially thought to be missing?

Yes, now the NYPD can start looking officially.

I never realized how long 24 hours can be.

If he’d arrived at Frankfurt, the border cops would expect you to pass through their point in terminal one or two. So, if there is an entry....they have a computer entry that he came into the country. No entry....no record.

I live in the Frankfurt area and have used the airport at least forty times. It would be impossible to avoid the border entry control folks. The airport for the most part....shuts down by 11PM and they clear out folks inside for clean-up.

I would note too....that you have to pass the border entry folks first, before you get to the baggage area.

That is why we are so confused, there is video showing him getting onboard the plane but nothing after that, his bags arrived, but no sign of him.

Could you check the nearest hospitals to the airport?

Ralph Knight, white male, from Bridgton Maine USA

Thanks

One factor with Frankfurt...some airlines park their plane on the parking ramp and NOT the moveable bridge area next to the terminal. You walk down the truck-stairway...then walk 60 ft away to board a bus. The bus takes you direct to the underside of terminal one or two (two is usually for int’l flights). You walk from the bus to a door about six ft away, and enter.

From that point, you are in a secure area and signs lead to “bags”...but it’s about a 2-minute walk to border entry. You can ONLY exit via that point, and that leads to the baggage claim area. Then you can only exit to the ‘meeting-point’ (50-ft away).

In this case, having been through the airport a great deal over twenty years...the only way you could screw this up or get lost...would be: (1) NOT board that bus after getting off the plane, and just walk around the ramp (it’s hectic and busy, so you do something like this but they typically watch you as you leave the plane or (2) instead of getting off the bus at the border-entry door....you just stay on and maybe the bus-driver would miss you. He’d take the bus and park it later on the ramp.

Both of these scenarios are possible but I can only see this happening if some guy was having a low-blood sugar moment and really didn’t pay attention.

The Germans and these airport guys at Frankfurt are awful sharp on security, so it would amaze me if he rode the plane in and is simply missing within the airport structure itself. Because they close at 11PM each night...there’s plenty of night-crew to clear each terminal and clean up the place.

My humble opinion, if he didn’t pick up his bags or pass border-entry...he’s still there within the airport operations area. It would be awful hard to leave the airport ops area without some security badge swipe.
