Mr. Comey didn’t listen to my request for transparency.
Only months later has the truth finally come out. well it ought to raise the question with anybody. What happened in the meantime? What happened because Mr. Comey refused to tell the American people that the President wasn’t under investigation.
The short answer . . . Media hysteria
After all of this chaos and mountains of innuendo about the President and collusion with Russia the truth finally came out. The FBI was NOT investigating President Trump in the Russia probe. So the media was wrong. So the Democrats were wrong . So the wild speculation and conspiracy theories ended up harming our country. They played right into Russia’s hands.
And how did we all learn about this truth?

At first nobody believed it. The media scoffed at what was written in that letter. The media insisted that Mr. Comey would never tell the President he was not under investigation.
Well we learned earlier this month from Mr. Comey himself that he had done exactly that.
It was not a surprise to me because Mr. Comey had told me the same thing. I have to note something else here. Mr Comey didn’t just tell the President, Senator Feinstein and me that the President was not under investigation , he had also told the Gang of 8. Of course the Gang of 8 includes Senator Minority Leader Schumer.
But even after Mr. Comey told the Gang of 8 that the President was not under investigation. the Minority Leader told the media that the President was under investigation and of course that further the media hysteria. The Minority Leader even tried to say that the Senate shouldn’t vote on the Supreme Court nomination because the President was under investigation and the whole time he knew it was not true .
Mr. Comey should not be telling Senators one thing behind closed doors and then making public insinuations that are different. And now Mr. Comey should tell the public what he told members about the Attorney General. Enough of this nonsense.

The innuendo and false accusation of the press and DEMs in Congress are doing what the Russians have a tough time doing - undermining confidence in the executive branch.

The question of the day for me relates To Schumer’s public position that Trump was being investigated after he and the Gang of Eight had been told by Comey that he wasn’t.
Will Senator Schumer be challenged on his duplicity today when he appears on This Week on ABC?

I don’t think so. It is obvious that Comey told the Gang of Eight that they were not to divulge the information about the non-investigation of Trump.
Either we are for or against leaking. While a leak in this case would have obviously helped Trump and our side I believe Grassley and the others were correct in refusing to leak the Comey info.
Sometimes important principles get in your way. Such is the case here.
IMHO.
Grassley is not a member of the Gang of 8. His information was second-hand until it was confirmed to his Judiciary Committee. Grassley does not leak and does not pretend speculation is fact.
In fact he (Grassley) asked Comey to make a statement to the public declaring Presifent Trump was NOT under investigation. Grassley was looking for transparency. Transparency from Comey and government officials.
