Mummy DNA May Prove Ancient Egyptians Descended From Son of Noah Exactly as Bible Describes

In a scientific first, DNA taken from Egyptian mummies has been decoded, producing unexpected results about the true origins of the Egyptian people. These results confirm a controversial theory that traces the First Egyptian Dynasty back to Biblical Ham, as described in the Book of Genesis.

Scientists have long been baffled by the origins of the Egyptian people. Until now, there was no empirical data to clarify the issue. The study of Egypt’s population history could only draw on literary and indirect archaeological references, and inferences made from genetic studies of present-day Egyptians. Based on these sources, most researchers believed that ancient Egyptians came from nearby northern Africa. Egyptians today exhibit a significant sub-Saharan genetic influence.

This scientific belief long contradicted the Biblical account, which designates the forefather of Egypt as being Mizrayim, a son of Ham.

Of these were the isles of the nations divided in their lands, every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations. And the sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan. Genesis 10:5-6

According to the Bible, Mizrayim settled in Egypt whereas Cush settled in Africa, establishing two distinct and separate nations that did not share a common heritage. The scientific theory implies the origins of Africa and Egypt were the same.

I've always disputed what modern sociologists and "theorists" have said about the Ancient Egyptians being Sub-Saharan Cushites.

Even Egyptian hieroglyphics suggest exactly what the article does.

Where did they get Ham’s DNA?

During the Middle Ages, people thought that Gypsies came from Egypt. Thus the name.

This article in "Nature" is apparently the scientific source for your posting. "The tombs of ancient Egypt have yielded golden collars and ivory bracelets, but another treasure — human DNA — has proved elusive. Now, scientists have captured sweeping genomic information from Egyptian mummies. It reveals that mummies were closely related to ancient Middle Easterners, hinting that northern Africans might have different genetic roots from people south of the Sahara desert. " "The study, published on 30 May in Nature Communications1, includes data from 90 mummies buried between 1380 bc, during Egypt’s New Kingdom, and ad 425, in the Roman era. The findings show that the mummies’ closest kin were ancient farmers from a region that includes present-day Israel and Jordan. Modern Egyptians, by contrast, have inherited more of their DNA from central Africans." The DNA only goes back to 1380 BC so the possibility of an earlier greater sub Saharan percent cannot be ruled out but still the majority would have been Mideast peoples. You will, of course have the Jewish slavery period. Now, the question may be where the Ethiopian people came from if anywhere else.

This is going to crush the afrocentric types who claim that the ancient Egyptians were black and built the pyramids. Turns out they were not Kangs.

Several places in the OT, Egypt is referred to as “The land of Ham.”

They can trace it back to a common source, and estimate a timeframe. May as well call him “Ham” if the data fits.

Agriculture in that region started around Mesopotamia (currently Iraq) and spread. I could see ancient farmers heading south, finding the fertile Nile region, and deciding to settle there.
