I’ll pour some bourbon on my strawberry shortcake and enjoy the treat after I retrieve the colors, then call it a day.

No problem with that! Bourbon or Scotch is a different animal.

Harry Callahan: You know what makes me really sick to my stomach?
Burly Detective: What?
Harry Callahan: Is watching you stuff your face with those hot dogs. Nobody, I mean NOBODY puts ketchup on a hot dog.

I figured that might be the case, as it was the first thing I thought of when I saw your comment. :-)

Yes, that will do. Though, if you’ve got it, Eagle Rare please. Blanton’s if you really want me happy.

Someone gave me a half gallon of Jim Beam. I don’t drink liquor and I rarely drank bourbon. But if I catch a cold.....

“They probably also put ketchup on a hot dog. “

Or a good steak :)

Oh, well, I’ll just have to watch you bourbon drinkers from afar while sipping Jack Daniels.

Rum and Coke is fine. Nyet on the bourbon.

My daughter interned at the US embassy in Barbados for a summer. Said the local rum was superb.

There’s two ways to mix a martini: in a shaker, or with a stirrer. Shaken martinis atomize and fully mix the flavors. Stirred don’t atomize so the flavors layer instead of mixing. Think of it as the difference between a peanut butter cup where you taste the chocolate and peanut butter together but still as two flavors, and a peanut butter cup milkshake where you taste chocolate peanut butter as one. Most of the experts actually think stirred is better. Originally Bond was being a bit of a rebel, going against the norm. Of course he’s a major enough pop culture figure that he became the norm. I still like shaken better, but stirred is definitely prettier (stirring doesn’t cloud the liquid).

The Booker’s at 128 proof is a stiff drink. A bit of a burn at first, but otherwise quite good.

Actually it’s Flag Day and it is also the 71st Birthday of the current POTUS Donald J. Trump.

Did I mention that he doesn’t drink Bourbon or any other Alcoholic Beverage?
