Let’s just agree on New Caney and get on with our lives.

(I’ve lived in Katy for three years. But - as my kid’s track coach tells me - I’m not really from real Katy, because I’m on the wrong side of the highway. But even “real” Katy has become pretty Yuppified by now. I think half the homes in the town itself are just addresses that people so their sons can play football at Katy High. At least that’s what the Cinco Ranch boosters tell me).

What’s ironic is that 1848 anti-war Congressman Abe Lincoln opposed admitting Texas into the Union in the first place.

And opposed the whole Mexican-American War as unjust and un-Constitutional. A 19th century Ron Paul. He voted to censure President Polk.

His criticisms of President Polk even sound similar to current attacks on President Trump, questioning Polk’s honesty and mental health.
