We Should Thank Millennials for Ruining These Terrible Products
New York Post ^ | June 10, 2017 | Jennifer Wright

Millennials are, according to Business Insider earlier this month, “Killing Chains Like Buffalo Wild Wings and Applebee’s.” This isn’t the first thing that we’ve killed and/or destroyed by stubbornly refusing to spend money on it. Last year millennials got accused of wiping out everything from mass-market beers like Budweiser and Coors to the diamond industry to bar soap.

And, on behalf of all millennials, I can only say: You’re welcome.

Because these institutions we’re obliterating are awful.

Well, Appleby’s sucks and BWW isn’t much better so that’s okay by me. I’m not sure you can put all this on Millenials though. They’re still living in their parents’ basements, last I heard - splitting time with their divorced parents. Can’t imagine they have much disposable income with the debts Obama saddled them with.

Actually it doesn’t bug me at all.

They are a part of the market and if that is the result, so be it.

I know of no one who will mourn Applebees. I never even understood who would go there in the first place, except as a “let’s meet at” once in a while.

Let the market decide!

I thought millennials we still trying to pay off their student loans on worthless liberal arts degrees. How could they wipe out the diamond market?

Maybe the next generation will obliterate Starbucks.

I’m not sure how dead Budweiser and Coors are, but when I have my one beer every three months I prefer something better. McD’s is dying too - no complaints here.

I’m an old fart, over the hill, and I prefer bar soap. Tried that liquid body wash stuff. Didn’t like fiddling with the bottle. Grab the bar, lather up, put it down. Real men don’t drop the soap. And yes, I’ve heard all the double entendres about THAT, too.

“Can’t imagine they have much disposable income”

Don’t forget the student loans for their indoctrination classes at college.

Just another excuse of the lazy slobs: “We aren’t lazy slobs, we’re helping!”

Yeah, right, lazy slobs.

They have no idea how to take care of themselves once their elderly parents die off.

“How could they wipe out the diamond market?”

They don’t buy any. Far less of these lazy slobs ever get married. “Hooking up” is easier for them.

Went to a BWW a couple of months ago and was stunned how much they had raised their beer prices. I like craft beer and don’t mind paying a little extra but 10 bucks for a beer that should be 5? Really?

Won’t be going back that’s for sure.

““Healthy food makes millennials happy. They push to eat healthier, more eco-friendly foods.””

Apparently I work with millennials that are non-millennials - because their eating habits are the most junk-food crap I have ever seen!

That’s funny. Earlier today, I explained to my son that we only used bar soap when I was a kid... the only time he ever encounters bars of soap is when we stay in a hotel, and they provide those tiny bars. He thinks using bar soap is unsanitary.

“Well, we Boomers took out Target.”

Wasn’t just the Boomers, it was people with children too.

Target jumped the shark with allowing men in the womens dressing rooms and bathrooms. That’s when every right thinking American said “ENOUGH!” and they stopped going to Target. I stopped when they did that and I will never go back. Any business that pushed the LGTB agenda down our throats will not get a single dime from me.

“We prefer lathering up with liquid because it doesn’t get weird and soggy and slip out of your hands constantly.”

Odd. I’ve used bar soap for decades. Cheap, effective and no, it doesn’t leap out of my hands - it’s DEAD, Jim!

“Meanwhile, it’s become a cliché for baby boomers to malign millennials for consuming too much avocado toast. Which means ... baby boomers are mad because we’re enthusiastically eating fresh vegetables on whole grain breads?”

Ah, the high-carb, low-protein diet pushed by the government. Maybe some of us just realize bacon tastes better and allows one to work without feeling weak...but then, I guess that suggests someone should be familiar with manual labor.

“Trust me, the first food chain that invests in a latte artist who can carve our own faces into coffee foam is going to make a fortune.”

Yes...foo-foo kids who want their coffee to look like a “selfie”, because thinking about themselves takes up all their time. But then...coffee doesn’t foam. Not unless you pay $6 of your parent’s money to buy politically correct coffee - from a business who loves every liberal cause.

We received an Applebee’s gift card from somewhere and went there to spend it. Wow they’re expensive for a no specialty chain. One and only time I’ve been there.
