My suggestion to immigrants, wait until the first week of July to cross our border on on foot.
I’ve done business in Minnesota in the winter. That is not the kind of weather that you go out for a stroll in in a coat, jeans, and tennis shoes, ie, regular clothing.
That kind of cold is no joke, and you’d better come prepared if you value your life.

Freezing to death likely means dying of hyperthermia in this case. people from extremely hot climates like this woman are easily susceptible to pneumonia. I knew some people from Micronesia that had to wear sweaters in DC during the hight of summer, else get the shivers.
So yes, she could have died by “freezing to death” in June.
