Joe McCarthy was an American patriot. Using his name as a slur of the lying media and communists in general would be a corruption of the facts which lead to his downfall. McCarthy told the truth and was censured by the senate for his efforts to alert Americans to the communist threat which was and is bent on destroying this republic. The Welch line about having no shame was a sound bite same as today. The media ran with that to help destroy McCarthy while they were the ones with no shame. Same as today. What was done to McCarthy helped build the lying and powerful media we have today.
