“School was a place where we had lots of laughs back in my day - and teachers gave us similar “awards” all the time.

Libtards have turned the schools into concentration camps with no humor allowed. Glad I’m not there anymore.”

Know exactly what you mean/how you feel. Is why I posted this.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

My husband was a head coach for 20 years. Following the tradition of his high school coaches, he his assistant coaches would give out funny awards at the wrestling banquet to each member of the team. The awards were based on things each guy did that season.

The coach who gave our oldest an award was laughing with tears when he told the story of why our son received the “Have Faith” award. Our other teen son had done something just as goofy to get his award. Very funny and the guys loved it.

But every year I was tense waiting for a parent to get upset over the teasing. The one time it happened, it was the parent of an ADD child. Honestly, the coaches didn’t even think about that, he was a good kid and they enjoyed having him on the team.

They put a lot of time and effort into letting the guys know they were eachan important member of the team while having fun.
