>>Are they going to shoot down the plane if they think it will crash into a residential area? I’ve never understood the purpose, if anyone knows.

It’s not to protect the residential areas. It’s to protect the globalist’s skyscrapers and the government’s buildings.

A Mini-Puff could put a couple of rounds into the perps indicated location. It would have a smaller collateral damage impact than taking out the whole plane. A few bullet sized holes in the aircraft will NOT make it explode from air pressure!

LOL, if you could massage the trigger for a less than 1 second burst you would still be looking at 50-70 rounds. While that would kill the perp if they hit him the round would certainly destroy the connections that exist in the walls of the aircraft that control flight systems. Most of these shots would be through and through so you would be likely to hit all kinds of other things like structural members etc. The aircraft that intercept in these situations have a 20mm Vulcan cannon (6000 rpm). Even if you could keep the number of rounds under control there would be multiple holes of .75 inches (if the loadout wasn't HE) that would instantly change the aerodynamic balance and likely shred the plane due to those stresses.

Start shooting these bastards in the head, and this crap will stop.

Before, or after duct-taping them to a seat? I'd say before (it's more sporting that way) but after has it's pluses. Better chances of making certain the body, and something else expendable -- like an airline seat-back --- soaked up all the energy of a round. Wouldn't want to blow right through the perp to then injure the aircraft. Whatever you do -- do not shoot downwards. Frangible ammo can be nice, too.

Link supplied by Nateman, in comment #19;

Ending highlights from that article;

A bit further on there was mention that no one was injured, so I guess that could be a favorite line, too.

Never leave home without it. The tape, I mean.

“The guys all seem to be trolling and frisking for dates.”

For dates with men or women? Wait... I don’t want to know.

I would do both. First, I would focus on prevention and then add the Marshalls. Really, after the additional expenditure, the new doors would be much cheaper in the long run. But I do think Marshalls should be used in routes that include terrorism targets and large metropolitan areas.

“Are they going to shoot down the plane if they think it will crash into a residential area?”

You betcha! Or a building with important people in it. Still considered a “win” by terrorists.

Thank you!

I was going to say something. That was like when people say, after the police kill a bad guy, “Why didn’t they shoot the gun out of his hand like on TV?”

Precision rapid-fire cannon shooting of only a couple of rounds at a person in an oversized aluminum tube while flying at 500 mph... Just nope.

Makes it sound like TSA is asleep at the wheel. Not surprising.

Yeah, even the power of an air-to air proximity explosion pales in comparison to the disruption and unbalancing of the aerodynamic forces that are created instantaneously. Even if you could, which you can’t, there are no outcomes other than dramatic and catastrophic destruction of the aircraft.

The Loadstar’s intrepid reporter in Libya has sent back these images, revealing the scale of the damage, with Afriqiyah Airlines and Libyan Airlines badly affected.

The pictures show engineers trying to do temporary repairs on bullet holes in fuselages, before the aircraft are flown on to Europe for full-scale repairs.

Really doesn't change much. You have a bigger problem controlling the burst on a .30 cal. You would have to be very close either head on or 90 degree attacks. Finally, the GAU would have to be on something that is faster than the airliner. Gun pods won't get it done. Finally, have you ever seen what a GAU .30 does to aluminum in the above scenario. Shreds it, followed by aircraft failure due to aerodynamic forces.

Re: bullet holes. Any of them flying at the time? Of course you can patch bullet holes. They aren’t from a minigun while doing 5 bills.

Bullet hole /= cannon hole.

Just give up; you’re wrong.

I’ll give you credit for thinking outside the box, but in this case it would be a trillion $ shot.

Rather than another 9/11 they will shoot down the plane. The passengers can't be rescued and are considered dead already.
