I have a weird clothing style.
When I'm not wearing my work uniform, I wear black slacks and a long, button down short sleeve shirt with breast pockets. I have a few pairs of the exact same kind so I can rotate them out through the week.
I like the simplicity, and don't really care if people think that I never change my clothes.
Being a concealed carrying fella, I always seem to have a problem with my gun making my pants droop down as I'm walking, and I always have to keep pulling them back up. My white crew-neck long T-shirts always comes untucked, too.
My EDC is a Kahr CW45 in a leather Mitch Rosen Express Line holster. My original gun belt was a Crossbreed Classic, but it's sagging pretty badly now and isn't in use. So, I've gone to the DeSantis, and recently bought the Kore Essentials ratcheting X-1 gun belt -which I really like, but wouldn't mind it if it was just a little bit thicker.
So, since I've tried different gun belts, I'm convinced it's the slacks I'm wearing that's causing the sagging.
When I'm at work, I wear a lot of items on my waist, and my uniform pants don't sag at all.
Do any gun-carrying FReepers have any suggestions as to what kind of black slacks work best for concealed carry? Preferably not too expensive, and not cargo pants. I've been told that wearing cargo pants just screams, "GUN."
Now, I will type the shopping issue I had today in the body of this post.
This was quite upsetting to me because I've been walking into that store for fishing supplies and other things for over 15 years, and the last six with a loaded gun on my hip. Hell, they SELL guns there. Guns, gun belts, holsters, magazine carriers, and all sorts of concealed carry goodies.
Soooo, I'll be writing a letter to their corporate offices and ask them about this policy.
How am I supposed to try on some pants to see if my gun, holster and belt will function properly if I can't have my loaded gun in their shop?!

there is a youtube video titles ‘pocket carry’ Now, now. It has a bunch of suggestions you might need. the lecturer is a hefty dude, so he might mention ‘something’ of a ‘lightbulb moment’.

I actually had something called the CCW Comfort Sling, which was basically suspenders.
They tend to start aching the shoulders after about five hours of carrying.
I do wear suspenders at work, too. Along with my belt filled with tools, flashlights, etc.
I did the exact same Google search, and came up with the same. I wanted to hear from gun carrying FReeper’s experiences before shopping.

You are trying on clothing for your concealed carry so you will be handling your weapon. In that case, the safe policy is to verify the weapon is unloaded ...

I love the Wilderness Instructor belt. Got mine at GT Distributing in Austin. You might want to add a pair of Dickie’s Perry suspenders, Walmart.

The weapon was never going to leave the holster.
As for your search for a suitable pair of pants, I suggest going to a tailor. You may have to try a couple to find one that listens to your requirements without overreacting to the word ‘gun’ with undue fear. Let’s face it, at least 35% of the population would act this way.
As for shopping with a loaded gun. I tend to understand the cashiers point. However, I am very uneducated about what is usually the fair and proper procedure. I’m one of those people who wants to know more about guns, and plan to take a few pistol training courses when I can afford to do it.
For now, though, I don’t know what is commonly done.
Do some stores allow you to store your weapon after you have removed any bullets or cartridges? I can presume they don’t want to worry about bumping into the store box and having it fire by accident.
Is not being able to store a pre-loaded gun really a dealbreaker for your retail business? You are entitled to your opinion and choices. As I said, I do not have a lot of direct knowledge about it, and am learning what is commonly done from reading posts on FR plus other places.
Get a small light gun.
She then directed me to their safe box and said for me to put the muzzle into it and pull the trigger to make sure that it was empty.
I said, "It's not empty. Why would I carry an empty pistol?"
She said, "It's LOADED?"

Soooo...remove the magazine and pocket it, clear the firearm and go back in. Do as they request to prove it is empty but keep the piece with you. Then when in the dressing room, replace the magazine and try on the pants you’ve chosen.
Because of my clothing nothing but a pocket carry works. I have to synch the belt tight.
I bought the least attention getting ballistic nylon sneakypete.com holster for my Kahr 9mm. People kept asking me what it was so I can’t carry it. They need to make it resemble a tool carrier. There are no cell phones or gadgets that size. But it is otherwise perfect.
Usually, they’ll inspect the weapon if you’re taking it in to get sights, try holsters, etc. Then, they’ll either put a zip tie through the action and/or place a sticker on it.
But if the gun in question was unloaded, it would be a lot lighter than it would be if I was carrying it with a full magazine. I wanted to try out these pants with the full weight of the weapon in it’s holster on my belt to see if it would work out.
Never got the chance, though.
The Kahr CW45 is very small. Single-stack with 6+1 on a polymer frame.
At that point, it would have been too late to try that. I was already shocked that they wouldn’t allow loaded firearms in their business. They would have kept a REALLY close eye on me.
