Islamic State and al Qaeda in renewed talks to join forces

Should this significant jihadist merger happen, it will mean double trouble, not just in Iraq and Syria, but also in expanded jihad missions globally.

And it wouldn’t be difficult, since the Islamic State emerged from al-Qaeda and diverged from it only on tactics, not on beliefs. On the good news side, the Islamic State and al Qaeda attempted a merger in November 2014 that did not work out.

Nor was it expected to, for reasons that still apply, including both groups’ strategy, as well as a spirit of competition. However, the desperate situation brought about by the Islamic State’s losses to coalition forces in Syria and Iraq may make a merger more expedient.

It would just mean they’re getting desperate. Of course, Democrats don’t want us to win, so they will paint this as a sign to give up the fight.

Could well be true. However Obama and McCain are saddened by the news.

Neah. Target isn’t concentrated enough for a MOAB or even a nuke.

Simply put, we have to discard the rules of ‘civilized’ warfare. There must be no quarter, no mercy, no prisoners, and no worrying about their ‘dependents’ or slaves. Anyone captured by them is assumed to be dead - no ransoms.

Anyone who provides them food, weapons, ammo, medicine, does business with them, handles their money, etc., needs to be killed, too, including any NGOs that decide to intervene, or anyone who pays them a ransom for captives.

Might have to execute some State Department employees, too. And maybe McCain.

Add Erdogan’s Islamist Turkey to the first two and the equation is complete.
