Romney's 'binders full of women' are real binders after all

It turns out Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women” are actual binders after all — filled with the resumes of women who hoped to land jobs in his administration as governor.

The Boston Globe reports Tuesday that it was shown the binders by a former Romney aide. The two white three-ring binders contain about 200 cover letters and resumes with some handwritten notes. […]

The binders — and the resumes — were the result of an effort to get more women into state government in Massachusetts after Romney defeated Democratic nominee and then-state Treasurer Shannon O’Brien for governor in 2002.

The comment — which sounded tin-eared to some — became a punchline among Romney foes and late night comics.

Ultimately Romney did get credit in Massachusetts for naming women to high positions in his administration and the state courts. …

If he had said “binders full of resumes from women”, no one would have complained. Liberals are always looking for ways to nitpick and bend the truth in order to fit their agenda..

I’m sort of glad Romney, and also McCain lost, actually.

I supported each one, but only because we did not have a strong candidate.

Obama was foisted upon us, by the media, and he got a full eight years. The thing is, I don’t actually believe we would have gotten Trump, if not for Obama.

Neither Romney, nor McCain would have been a huge difference.

I think this worked out just fine. :D

Go Trump.

It only became an issue because a republican said it. I still hear liberals repeating this as if they believe Romney meant - I don’t know what - that he kept women inside of binders?

I worked with one of the women in his binder, she was a real pill. Uppity tightly wound socially rude creature but fairly easy to look at.

You mean this isn’t some kind of kinky bondage thread? (due to the way the msm first handled the quote, may as well be).

I very much have to agree with you. Voters had to be made to say “Enough”.

I’ve never regreted voting Libertarian, in 2008, against madman McCain, and leaving the presidential ballot blank, in 2012.

McCain was crooked and crazy, and I found it abhorrent that Palin would buy his ticket to a train wreck. A putz and his tool. Not a winning combination.

Romney was one more Lefty pretending a mantle of virtue. His trail of blood was all over MA, and Obama thought it so swell for MA that he took it all, chapter and verse, and went national with it.

The people’s Last Chance came in with Trump.

Thanks be to God.

You're so right. It was a ridiculous insinuation to make against teetotaler, non-womanizer Romney. Those that made the criticism were well aware how fallacious it was but knew it would fly.

I don’t think it is at all that Palin was an issue.

She was the only GOP person in the last how many years, who I actually liked.

(a lot)

We disagree about her. But otherwise we seem on the same wavelength. :D
