FULL TITLE: New Pittsburg, Kan., High School principal resigns after student journalists question her credentials
Days after student reporters at Pittsburg High School in Kansas dug into the background of their newly hired principal and found questionable credentials, she resigned from the $93,000-a-year job.
She was going to be the head of our school, and we wanted be assured that she was qualified and had the proper credentials, said Trina Paul, a senior and an editor of the Booster Redux, the school newspaper. We stumbled on some things that most might not consider legitimate credentials.
Minutes into a closed special meeting Tuesday night of the Pittsburg Community Schools Board of Education, board president Al Mendez emerged to announce to a packed boardroom that Amy Robertson, the new principal, had resigned.

Metmom her diploma came from either a bubblegum machine or the bottom of a Cracker Jack Box
Contacted by email Friday, Robertson, who has lived off and on for 19 years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Hopefully, these kids will apply the same due diligence to finding and keeping a job in the near future. It’s fun to work hard at destroying a teacher’s career, because at that age, the adult authority figure is still ‘the enemy’.
Let’s see how they do to making something beneficial happen.
It’s NOT a good thing allowing the students to have majority veto power over who their principal will be.
This sort of student is who you find at failed colleges like MIZZOU.
Brown said Friday that the districts school board had 100 percent supported the Robertson hire.
FIRE THE SCHOOL BOARD!!!
These high school students demonstrate more journalistic chops and curiosity than all of the crooked Washington media combined.
p.s. FIRE ALL SCHOOL BOARDS!!!
I’m guessing her hiring interview went real well, with her supporting “common core” and no doubt excreting all the appropriate buzzwords and intolerance. Note the safe “environment” {space}:
I felt like she is very knowledgeable about what is going on in education today in college and career readiness, she is very familiar with Common Core, she knows about how a building works and about maintaining a safe environment, he said.
Nobody resigns from a $93K a year job unless the allegations are true.
It’s not that big of a deal. I’m sure they are no different than pretty much any other school board regarding this sort of stuff.
However, I do think this is a vision of things to come. The internet, google, et-al have made it so incredibly easy to research anyone that faking a resume fact simply will not fly.
“And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids”
The current director of the Pittsburgh (PA) Public Schools is on the job today despite journalists discovering that he was hired on the basis of a FAKE resume.
He was, of course, the right color. And frankly nobody else wanted the job.

usually they're elected ...
are you serious? you think all school boards can’t vet a prospective principal. if this is true, why have them? replace them with a private consulting firm.
“Hopefully, these kids will apply the same due diligence...”
To find out what they are learning in school is liberal hogwash and that the Democrats and RINO’s are the problem with this country.
we removed our elected school board and superintendant.
