I teach at Auburn. It is a day off tomorrow!
Seriously, pray for the South. We do not need a repeat of April 27, 2011. On that day, almost 250 people in Alabama lost their lives.
Yes we had no power for 7 days and many students in our area were in Tuscaloosa where I believe many of the lives were lost.
Will pray for you, AB! Hope you, the staff, and students stay safe! War Eagle and Roll Tide! <3
AMEN to that!
Our farm was hit that day but what saved us was the funnel not quite making it to the ground. The winds underneath did plenty of damage though. Our house wasn't damaged but everything else was.
Our local TEA Party group set up a donation station for a county in AL that we "adopted". While Hubby and some buddies cleaned up our mess, I helped man the station. A guy loaned us his tractor-trailer and we had that trailer packed solid when we hauled everything to AL.
Being able to help people who'd lost everything helped me keep some sanity among the mess here. But I really don't want a repeat of any of that for any of us. Praying hard that tomorrow turns out to be better than they predict.
My middle daughter is coming to Auburn in the fall. She plays the trumpet and was accepted into the music program. War Eagle!
My daughter goes to Alabama and they just cancelled as well. Stay safe!
