Hmmm? As I suspected the real thing at 300fps and range out to 60 plus ft in a real shotgun, apparently not available to civilians. I drew a blank at every supplier I knew of. Even the police are against general use and prefer select individuals and training. I have been shouting the need for training in non-lethal procedures for some time. With a non compliant subject who is only non-compliant exhibiting no other signs of being a danger to the police or the public, the gun is a poor weapon against such.

Being far enough away to disengage without danger to the officer, is a must. There are way too many folks who for whatever reason drugs, age, mental capacity, drunk, pure belligerence, who don’t deserve to die. There must be procedures to disengage while still doing the job and catching these folks at a more opportune time and place, than on the street in a screaming match to attempt to get them to comply with yelled orders, when they are clearly not complying and you the officer have no way of knowing why, and your only out is discharging your firearm.

Thanks for saving me two hours.

I LOVE bashing the “intellectuals” on Amazon who write 6 paragraph reviews about HORRIBLE movies that they gave 5 stars to.

We commoners can’t understand who good the movie was.

12 gauge loaded with #6 or #8’s. Won’t go through the drywall, but will make a real mess of someone at close range...

Of course a load of rubber buckshot can be non-lethal and still get the point across. However at really close range, all bets are off...

It’s amusing to hear the defenders of perps like these say things like “they were just going to rob the place; they weren’t going to hurt anybody” as if we should take the word of someone who has already broken the law by breaking and entering in the first place.

Yeah that would work too.

A beanbag round is fairly lethal at 10 feet or less.

The point is that if I were in an apartment I’d want to stay away from a handgun. I don’t want a 9mm round going through a window and into someone else place.

You sort of have to consider your surroundings a bit. You have a right to defend yourself but not necessarily to wound or kill innocents near by.

In a crowded environment I believe a shotgun may be a better choice than a handgun. With either a beanbag or bird shot at close range you’re going to put someone on the ground and into the hospital. But, your range is such that you are not endangering those around you.

Just my position.

Maybe they could have used this:

I'd be a bit hesitant about using a single-shot against multiple opponents, unless they're real close together and reasonably far away. But not when they're in the house with me. His pick of an AR-15 was a pretty good one, and it passed the ultimate test: it worked for him when he needed it.

lol......you and I would get along great....You changed my mind!...only thing i disagree with is using the bayonet.....that's getting too close for me...

Reasonable enough attitude on your point, and personal preferences vary with personal experience. But the pigsticker is both quiet and effective, and is less likely to give any accomplices outside any clues as to what's going on inside where the main event is ongoing.

...id just roll a hand grenade close to their heads and step back....

Not at all a bad way to begin the ball, but if they're already down, handgun fire will generally deal with the problem very neatly. And that lets you save your frag or flashbang for those other potential additional bad guys outside, especially if there's a near-carload of them. Pop your noisemaker inside or underneath [where the gas tank is] and then take care of the traffic jam as they come out of the doors in the next 4.5 seconds. And their vehicle very nicely limits the damage to the nearby landscaping, unless of course, it catches fire and the gas tank blevvies. Watch out for the flying glass!

He said the use of the AR-15 meant “his grandson didn’t have a chance.” He said, “There’s got to be a limit to that law, I mean he shot all three of them; there was no need for that.”

It's an American tradition.

It may be a “single shot”...

But it’s a DOOZEY!
