The Most Infuriating Movie Endings Of All Time

There's nothing quite as frustrating as a bad movie ending. Failure to stick that landing in the final act can totally ruin an otherwise great film, or give us one more reason to hate one that was already a dud. Here's a look at some of the most annoying movie endings in recent memory. And it should go without saying, but spoilers ahead…

The Matrix Revolutions | 0:23
X-Men: The Last Stand | 0:59
Signs | 1:44
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 | 2:43
Now You See Me | 3:27
I Am Legend | 4:15
Man of Steel | 5:14

Casablanca: I wanted Rick and Ilsa to be together in the end, it was not to be.

He ended up with the corrupt Captain Renault in the tarmac talking about some sort of “friendship” :(

Yeah, nothing like plug-and-play hacking an Alien mothership to ruin the suspension of disbelief.

“Topsy-Turvy”

An absolutely delightful film turned sour in the last ten minutes.

Inexplicable.

I never liked the ending of Officer and a Gentleman. Everything up to that point indicated that the Richard Gere character was an amoral person, who had no feelings or caring about anyone but himself. We saw that he treated women terribly. Yet we were supposed to believe at the end that he would sweep Debra Winger off her feet and they were going to live happily ever after. It always seemed like a disconnect to me. Some people are so touched by that ending but it seemed out of place to me.

Independence Day: Whatever the Sequel Name Was

Who knew Godzilla’s enemies were in space ships?

Worse movie twist I’ve ever seen.

If everyone stopped going to movies, the brainwashing industry would collapse and disappear.

the abyss could have been a decent movie, but they ended with the protagonist giving his life to save his comrades... but it mustn’t have sat well with focus groups.

they put the protagonist in a no win situation and now had to save him, but how.

ALIENS!

but introducing aliens at the end of the movie would seem a little out of place, so they shot a scene for the beginning of the movie with a strange water occurrence, then a scene for the middle. and then redid the ending to save the world...

pitiful.

Signs? I thought the ending was the only thing which helped make up for all the glaring plot holes in the movie.

Out of the Past. Robert Mitchum should have lived, to marry the girl in Bishop. He did nothing wrong.
