Was it their Pride or our Prejudice that marginalized them? I think it was more likely our Sense and Sensibility.

Sad chuckle...
I came to comment that this is shades of ‘The Fountainhead’. Like ‘Piss Christ’, The left will always celebrate mediocrity as worthy of the same respect given to actual talent.
IOW - “You didn’t [write] that!”

How about Alex Haley, whose ROOTS is outrageously fraudulent and plaigrized from a (white) author?
Or Rigoberta Menchu, whose totally false “autobiography” that won her a Nobel Peace Prize?

This sounds like more of a hobby than something that would help you get a good paying job. I have my pick of authors to read from on the internet, library, etc. How much do they charge students per year?

...a diversity course featuring authors that have been marginalized for historical reasons. ...yeah, the historical reasons were probably that they were lousy writers - who today actually knows the race or the sex of an author writing under a pseudonym unless they do some research into the matter.....

Aside from having nearly 400 years of good press and family connections, what is the advantage of a Harvard university degree? You could get a better education from the Khan Academy.
