Two 12-year-old boys were arrested Saturday night after one of them pulled a gun on two victims during an attempted armed robbery in the Garden District, according to New Orleans police.
In a preliminary report, the Police Department said the juveniles approached a 48-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man at Chestnut and Philip streets about 8:45 p.m.
They asked the two for a dollar, police said.
When the victims refused, one of the boys produced a gun and made the man get on his knees, police said. The man complied, and the two fled.
The NOPD said both boys were apprehended a short time later.
I have a hard time shedding a tear when I hear about young kids getting shot down on the streets, unless they were just innocent bystanders. We have had a string of armed robberies by young kids these last few years.
Katrina was a blessing in disguise according to one resident/businessman I spoke with.
BTW, asking for a dollar is a ploy to get the victim to pull their money out. That’s when the thieves strike.
Not for me or my community. I live just North of New Orleans and we had and still have a lot of Karina refugees and it has changed our community and not for the best.
Just follow these kids home and see what’s behind the door.
Same thing for Katrina refugees in Texas, changed that community for the worse FOREVER!!!

For the city’s sake, I agree. If not for Katrina, it would be 3rd world nation status by now.
There are some inner city areas in the USA that are absolutely alarming. Yet, everything is still whitey’s fault.
And I’ll bet they’ll be suspended from school ... oh, wait ...never mind.
Is that you Bernhard?
Never pull a gun on me.
And don’t call me Bernie.
Big momma said don’t come home unless you got at least $100.
I used to get pop from a machine that had a bumper sticker saying: “Bernhard Goetz, American Hero!” back in the mid eighties.
Ok Mr. Goetz.
He had kind of a loyal following. Some people think of him as a hero.
I would put his Johnson in a vice and set him free in forty years. Never too young to learn right from wrong.
When you absolutely need to drop the hammer, go hammerless.
I’ve always said that.
The rare times I wear tender silk pants, they always have the front pockets reinforced with tougher material to prevent loss of limb and life.
I’ve been saying minorities need to learn a trade at an earlier age. This wasn’t what I had in mind.
