Sebaceous? That’s bodacious! I wonder if the guy’s name is Lance.

I've done that - had one on my neck. Used a scalpel by looking in the mirror.

On second thought, maybe that wasn't the brightest thing I'd ever done....

OK I get it. I’m going to do my own back surgery this afternoon. Because of ACA I can’t afford the deductable for an MRI so I’ll just take my best shot. (this is only half BS)

If you're White, all you have to do(in California) is lose your job, your savings, your home and then you can get mediCal and some of the best medical care from top surgeons in top hospitals and all at no cost to you(trust me I know). Oh if you're illegal? skip the first three qualifiers and just go straight to MediCal for free without ever having paid taxes like a American Citizen or Legal Resident.

Bad news for home choppers, if you don’t get the entire cyst wall, it will just grow back, even a little piece will grow into an entire new cyst.

Because of the residual scar, it will be even harder to get the whole thing out next time.

If your PCP has any sense, they wouldn’t try to remove a cyst from your neck, front of the neck anyway. Way to many scary things to cut.

No, he's got way too much sense for that - that's why I had to do it myself. I didn't have to cut very deep, though....

When I was in the Navy I caught a couple of junior corpsmen trying to cut a cyst out of a Marine’s armpit. I about freaked, I could see major vessels from across the room, I could visualize a major hemorrhage happening any second. I ordered them to drop the tools and back away.

I am not a bold doc, I applied a dressing and sent the Marine to the hospital to have a surgeon close him up.

I then had an excited discussion with the Chief and HM1 on duty.

Great visual, there, Doc!

I guess I wouldn't want my doctor working on my aircraft, so I shouldn't perform surgery on my body.
My sister's husband is retired Navy corpsman, spent the majority of his time afloat (Inchon, Iwo Jima) - he's had similar stories to tell - just cracks me up!

Best 4 years of my life was when I was attached to the Marines.

I’ve forgotten more good stories from that 4 years than most people accumulate in their life. I love Corpsmen, I love Marines and I met my wife during that assignment.

Beats a $3,400 deductible, on top of $15,000 in premiums.

Insurance companies making record profits.
