Yeah. I’m actually planning on getting with the parents of our grandkids about this. It’s simply not acceptable. My kids never saw Pocahontas either.
“It also adds insult to the fact they feministed her character from the happy book loving romantic.”
Belle in the 1991 original film was already “feministed”, as Linda Woolverton made clear since... well, since the film first came out. I’m not complaining about them feministing Belle, because the 1991 film already did that anyways (and quite frankly, I thought their treatment of Belle in the 2017 version was moderate compared to Belle, who DID act a lot like a feminist from the 1970s, which Woolverton explicitly stated was the basis for the character).
Beyond that, I agree, this is just beyond the pale. Besides, didn’t Disney nearly suffer severe consequences when a preacher preached that Disney was pushing the gay agenda with Frozen (with only John Nolte of Breitbart averting it)? This is going to come back and bite Disney in more ways than one.
Hey, what’s better than derivative junk than a greasy overlay of perversion? Oh, yeah. I’ll be taking my kids to see that.
This movie was a mistake from the second they cast Emma Watson. She is just not a believable Belle.
This Belle doll is beyond ugly and her head is about twice as big as it should be. I’m amazed that Disney could get the doll-making so wrong. Disney should recall all the ugly Belle dolls and put new heads on the bodies. Check it out, you’ll see what I mean.
He could now play a convincing Beast without any make-up.
Probably Linda Hamilton could too.
It's been 20 years.
This is a hideous move to indoctrinate children into the ruinous life of the homosexual. Be certain those you know are aware of this terrible injustice to children.
Scene inspired by Robert Maplethorpe.
Walt is rolling over in his grave...He would hate the way his company is being run...Oh well, an X rated Disney cartoon...
No, not really. But you know, you just keep hoping that maybe they’ll get it right one more time on just one movie or project in the style and with the values that everyone actually loved.
Guess not.
Thanks for posting the photo of the Emma Belle doll. See what I mean? Who was in charge of artistic and quality control? How did things get so far along without someone saying, “Stop, time out, that butt ugly doll head has to go!” The new Beast doll on the other hand is just wonderful.
Now that’s a name from the past...A sick pedophile...
Ah jeez, Fag Trek now?
Pass!
You’re right — that doll is awful! Her forehead is awfully large.
Also, I agree with many here about Emma Watson. Her hyper-feminist views have clouded my judgment of her as far as a “Beauty” role. Although not unattractive, she lacks the attributes needed — grace, softness. She is too tomboyish.
To be fair, Belle was actually pretty feminist herself in the 1991 film (and Linda Woolverton’s feminist agenda was such that she makes Emma Watson seem like a moderate by comparison. Let’s put it this way: Watson at least actually cares about healing a rift between guys and girls, build a bridge in other words. Linda Woolverton, on the other hand, based on the likes of the Maleficent movie that she made, would settle for nothing less than to exterminate men.), and considering a lot of the feminism in Beauty and the Beast was thanks to Linda Woolverton, I’m hesitant to blame Emma Watson for the hyper-feminism of Belle in the movie (even though I do agree her feminism’s too much).
Looks just like her. Homely.
This isn’t a cartoon, it’s live action................
