St. George Island just across the bridge is beautiful and the beach at the State Park should be on this list too. It’s on mine anyway.

I don’t remember him getting hanged. Sounds like he deserved it though. I live about 30 miles from Horseshoe Bend. Jacksons Trace runs right through the middle of town. Bunch of Tennessee Volunteers were buried at Cedar Creek before they backed up Lay Lake. Still a memorial cemetery there(on dry land of course) on General Jackson Memorial Dr.

Lot of history. Ought to be ashamed I haven’t paid better attention to it.

Nice! The one that I mentioned that is near there on Hana Bay is sometimes known as Waikoloa Beach, although that can be very confusing since there is a beach on the Big Island that is more commonly known by that name. I would pull out old pictures and scan them, but it is easier to get someone else's off of the internet:
