How the Anti-Vaxxers Are Winning

HOUSTON — It’s looking as if 2017 could become the year when the anti-vaccination movement gains ascendancy in the United States and we begin to see a reversal of several decades in steady public health gains. The first blow will be measles outbreaks in America.

Measles is one of the most contagious and most lethal of all human diseases. A single person infected with the virus can infect more than a dozen unvaccinated people, typically infants too young to have received their first measles shot. Such high levels of transmissibility mean that when the percentage of children in a community who have received the measles vaccine falls below 90 percent to 95 percent, we can start to see major outbreaks, as in the 1950s when four million Americans a year were infected and 450 died. Worldwide, measles still kills around 100,000 children each year.

They're trying to pretend that the rise in communicable diseases isn't because of all the invaders they are letting in without screening.

The NY SLIMES can shove it.

I have no dog in the vaccine fight. I had them. But should government FORCE people to get them?

Hell no.

And if the NY SLIMES is so damned concerned about public health, it should’ve taken a stand against Obamacare.

Not technically an "anti-vaxer", but when you see Pharma being shielded from liability (see here), it makes one question the development process.

If anyone’s against vaccinations, it’s a very, very small number.

What most people want are SAFE vaccines. There’s plenty written about the dangers of using mercury as a preservative, autism, and other dangers of giving multiple vaccines simultaneously instead of spread out over time.

The communists are just trying to create a phony issue.

If they were truly concerned about disease, they would push for putting an end to the illegal invasion by the third worlders. And keep the illegals OUT of our public schools!

“pretend that the rise in communicable diseases isn’t because of all the invaders they are letting in without screening.”

That is a fact. And it’s also a fact that the precise reason the invaders ARE so disease ridden, is because they come from places where they are rarely vaccinated. You can’t simultaneously argue that vaccination doesn’t work, but fail to notice that in populations that aren’t vaccinated, all the old diseases still run wild.

Hmmmm ..?? Why aren’t we inoculating the children of all these refugees.

I know some may refuse .. but maybe that should be a condition to coming here. We don’t need a whole new generation of people bringing back these terrible diseases into our country.

The danger is that many of our youngsters have not been inoculated either .. because of the propaganda against it .. so that is a real danger for our country.

The mercury is a bit overblown. Most of the mercury hysteria was drummed up to shut down coal power plants. However, the aluminum is not. While our bodies have a great system for filtering aluminum that’s consumed with food the same can’t be said for aluminum injected into the blood stream.

Great point MC.

They flood our country with human petri dishes.

The shots are clearly more about control.

A local school district here closed this past week because of a flu outbreak affecting so many teachers, and students, it was impossible to hold classes.

Weird thing was the flu was type B, not type A. Type B isn’t the type making the rounds here in TX..

Also, they reported most teachers, and staff did not receive flu vaccinations.

And then there’s nanotech (also metal).

But that’s not supposed to be talked about.

It’s not. Vaccine rates in the country you probably mean is higher than in the U.S. If you look at where there have been outbreaks you will notice they are not in low income areas. Think affluent, educated, white families who really are into eating organic and complain about big Pharma.

I wonder if any of these anti-vaxxers remember seeing kids with withered legs in metal braces when they were growing up?

I imagine that this is far more popular among those too young to have seen that.

Maybe their children will get to enjoy the other not so wonderful gifts that childhood diseases handed out as permanent reminders in the era before vaccines.

Oui

TB, scabies, hepatitis, influenza and many, many more.

All quite scary.

(Don't Dems have kids?)

I got a polio vaccination at early grade school age, in the fifties. I recall my mom telling me years later that she felt consternation because there was an incident in the news where a “live batch” of vaccine had gone out and actually infected children with polio. But it was still up to my parents to go along, and in those years, so close to the War, civic responsibility, not to say civic obedience, was a powerful force.

Of course, there was no measles vaccine, and we all got it. In fact, I had mumps and measles at the same time, if I recall family lore correctly. Now, measles is the horror. It’s hard to keep a perspective.

You gotta love the lying media. It’s not the anti-vaccers that are hurting America. It is all of the illegals bringing once-eradicated viruses BACK into the United States and other countries.
