One of my grandmothers was named Goldie. That’s a name you don’t see anymore.

Impossible. As soon as the oldest dies then there is a new oldest person, and so on...

I noticed that her mouth was gaped open in two photos. Perhaps she wasn’t able to clench her jaws shut. Hopefully, she had a nurse attentive enough to lightly spray some water inside the mouth every so often. Elder care means trying to keep doing what the person had spent a lifetime doing unaided and without thinking about it.

These oldest people never seem to live very long after winning the title.
Sounds totally dangerous.

Is this the one who ate two raw eggs a day and that was it?
I keep getting the oldest person alive mixed up with another oldest person alive for some reason.
RIP old timer. Looks like you lived long enough to see your enemies float by in the river.

Sound be easy to find a replacement; according to your federal government, there are more than six million active social security numbers for individuals over the age of 112.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/federal-eye/wp/2015/03/10/thousands-of-u-s-workers-older-than-100-that-might-be-social-security-fraud/?utm_term=.bac1a755792c
Worldwide, there are no more than 40 living people who are past the age of 110.
Of course, the Compost forgot to ask the obvious question: how many of the six million are still drawing a social security check? More than you might imagine. A couple of years ago, the hard-working folks at social security discovered a 117-year-old man, still receiving a monthly check, had actually died 40 years earlier. His son simply failed to inform the government when his father passed, and kept collecting his check for decades.
The fraud wasn’t discovered until the son died.

Right? Remember those Occupy Wall Street idiots?
They wanted to take away the wealth from the top 2% and give it to the poor.
Yeah? Then what? There is no more top 2%?

That’s not possible. As soon as the oldest person dies, the next oldest person takes over. So there is always the oldest person continuously.

Read a story once about some woman who asked her elderly grandmother what she considered to be the greatest technological advancement in her lifetime.
She expected the answer to be “spaceflight” or “television” or something like that.
The actual answer was “hot running water”.
