House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) pushed back on the notion the Democratic Party was “out of touch” with average Americans in response to comments made by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) during an interview Sunday on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.”
Pelosi, who has served in the House since 1988, took issue with Warren’s depictions of a severely out-of-touch party in need of desperate revitalization. During a speech delivered Saturday at the Progressive Congress Strategy Summit in Baltimore, Warren demanded her Party “grow a backbone” and implement immediate and sweeping reconstruction.

Warren is right about the DEMs being out-of-touch, but her solutions are even worse for the party.

I’m siding with Nancy on this one. The Democrats are deeply in touch with the feelings and concerns of the average American who drives a Prius, lives in a mostly-white liberal enclave, is worried about the prices at Whole Foods, loves their illegal immigrant servants, can’t find a decent dry cleaner, hates the drive to the local Nordstrom’s, wishes the poor people would stay off the road and use mass transit, champions the public schools they’d never send their own kids to, hates guns but is one of the few people in her liberal Utopia to have a carry permit, rails against child labor because the kids don’t know how to properly sew a seam, and just has no patience for anyone who’d serve caviar and brie with a Moscato (the horror!).
With Waters complaining about the Russians invading Korea and Pelosie complaining about the current Bush administration, how can they be out of touch?
